ok this thing is drivin me crazy...i have a small balconey outside my apartment, i like sitting on it, but about 2 or 3 days ago i swear to god this bee wasp or something has an obsession with flying in the exact same spot near my balconey

its huge too, and im not scared of bee stings but i dont want to sit on my balconey with some huge thing with a stinger flying around my head

i honestly think its the same one everytime, cuz he does the exact same thing...its like hes always there, no matter when i look out my window or go out there he is either there or shows up

sometimes he brings his buddy:thumbdown

i googled it and found some things i might try but thought id see if anyone had any experience with this

Bees are a big thing that is holding me back from planting flowers. lol I run away whenever I see one lol.
The only thing I know how to do is watch someone else blow up bee hives lol.

I have a wood deck. The wasps love to make nests underneath the railings. I just keep a can of bee/hornet/wasp killer on hand and zap the nest once I see them. If you see wasps regularly, they are either thinking of making a nest... or there is a small one that you just haven't found yet. Check by the building eaves too. Or.....The nest may very well be underneath your deck where you can't see them. Probably not a good idea to be spraying them if your neighbor below is outside. Check first!

the other thing you could do is let your apartment managment know what is going on. maybe they would do something about it

If you don't want to use the killer spray, there's another alternative although no guarantee on the results.

Hang a container of sugar water in a gallon water jug. First... take the jug and cut it just below the top. Now take the top part and turn it upside down into the bottom part. Attach some sort of hanging twine and tie the pieces together. Add the sugar water. Hang it off to the side of your patio area. I haven't tried this yet, but am planning on it this year. I live in the country and those pesky wasps drive me crazy!

Supposedly, the wasps/bees/hornets will fly into the hole of the jug for the sweet water and can't get out. They eventually will drown. Sounds a bit cruel, but then again, so is the poison. But we can't just let the damn things take over our living areas now can we?

another thing that works with flys is to hang a zip lock bag full of water. apparently the water messes up their eyes somehow. just figured it might work with bees and such
