Just try to be direct and honest: Don't beat around the bush.Be understanding: If your friend struggles to repay you, offer to work out a payment plan to give them some extra time.

I’d keep it polite but direct. something like, “Hey, just checking in on the money I lent you a while back. I could really use it now. Let me know when you can send it.” It keeps things respectful but clear.

Some people do not have any intention of returning money. When you are lending, you need to see if your friend belong to this group

Honestly, this shouldn't even be a question. If he owes you money, just ask him. If he has problems returning the money because he doesn't have it, he won't have a problem explaining it, since we can all face a similar situation. But if he doesn't want to give you answers and has no reason not to return the money, you should ask him until he returns it to you. After this, you decide whether to continue being friends with someone like that or not. In my case, I clearly wouldn't be friends with someone like that.

To ask a friend to return money, it’s best to approach the conversation politely and directly. You could say something like, "Hey, I just wanted to check in about the money I lent you. Do you have an idea when you’ll be able to pay it back?" This keeps it friendly but clear.

When you have passed the date that you promised to return the money and you don't, I would just forget about it. That's why I don't lend an amount that I can't forget about. I don't want unnecessary debts to disrupt friendships.
