I was at walmart this weekend,I was going to the register, all of a sudden this woman comes up behind me in her wheel chair buggy thing,I honestly thought that she was going to hit me,she was trying to beat me to the register,as I was paying for my things,I heard her telling whoever she was with "if you get in front of me your puting your own life in your hands,I just wanted to get out of there before I said something to her.

Biggest mistake walmart ever made was putting those carts in there. Most people who use them would not need them if they walked around instead of riding.

I agree and a lot of the people who use those things don't even need them. They are just too lazy to walk around like everyone else. I don't know what I would have done if someone did that to me. I most likely would keep my opinion to myself and then vent it all out once I left the store.

That"s very true,I seen the woman walking and getting out of it,so I"m thinking that she was fine.

This is every department store that has the option of those carts though. This problem is surely not specific to Wal-Mart. I have seen twenty somethings in a Kmart recently enjoying themselves on those things. I don't really care that much but when someone threatens you (directly or not) you are playing a whole different game. That woman would have had that attitude be it she could or can walk. Absolutely needs to be corrected.

What a jerk. I would've said something to her. Oh well, not saying anything is good too. No need for unnecessary crap, but some people just piss me off.

I would have said something. I would have said,"Well, that line over there is open. You could go run down another person besides me." Then I might have added, "If you have something to say to me, get up and tell me." I don't put up with rude people. I become snippy and rude right back.

I might have told her; "You just think you're gonna hurt me. Try it and see how you look flipped on your side in the middle of the damned store!"

One has to be careful and stop and consider people in situations like this.
Is she capable of walking sometimes and other times not?
Does she have a medical problem that would one day make her incapable of being fully mobile?

Food for thought.

Common courtesy is seriously lacking these days, and even among the handicapped, that is really sad. If these persons with disabilities wanted people to respect them by reason of their disabilities, they should at least show some respect on their part. Is this becoming a trend or what? In any case, it may have been rude of her, but if you retaliate by talking back, things could even get worse and uglier. You did the right thing by exercising restraint. However, at the same time you should likewise consider the other side of the equation: what if the old lady was in a hurry over something which impelled her to rush things? These are extraordinary situations which require extreme urgency.

Saying and doing are two different things. Honestly, how many of us would be rude right back? How many of us would say something under our breaths for her to hear? Yes, I agree people need to use restraint, but how many do? Just asking.
