I avoid lines whenever possible. I've learned patience over the years though. Some things just aren't worth getting upset about. It's all a state of mind.

I spent too much time in my younger years hurrying up and waiting.

If I see a line, I avoid it like the plague if I can.

When I go out to buy something, I don't pay for a product or service to wait in line:D

I've had to wait quite a while in the waiting room during the last few visits I've had with my doctor.

I realize that sometimes a doctor will run a little late, and that's fine. However, if I've waited a half-an-hour in the waiting room during a scheduled visit, I'll remind the secretary. But I won't act mad at anyone, however.

Unfortunately for them, some other people aren't so understanding, though.

I have a lot of patience with employees at an establishment I'm doing business with because I know what it's like to have a job where you have to deal with angry customers even though the bad service is beyond one employees fault.

It's good to have patience with others. But you also must have patience with yourself as well. If you don't, your self-esteem will likely suffer.

Depends on the situation. I'm not the most patient car driver, I am very verbal, will definitely drive around a slowpoke and etc. With people I can be very patient, especially on the phone-in fact, I've had co-workers praise me when they hear me-which made me very good on the crisis line.

With objects.......not so much, with computers very little, with figures...OH BOY< LOOK OUT!

My hubby has a lot of patience with people but none for waiting in lines.....

I'm impatient with myself. If I can't get something open, or fumble around, or get lost I flip out at myself. I am highly efficient...I speed, I work fast, etc.

In lines, I'm usually fairly patient as long as nothing fucking stupid is going on. If a place is busy, and everyone is doing their best at moving things along, you'll never see me complain. If someone is dicking around or customers are impeding the flow, I will get huffy to myself.

This weekend, I was in a line at Kohls and we waited about 5 minutes each. About 7 people in line, two cashiers. NOT the end of the world. Some twat behind me kept hovering close, bitching in my ear "OMG! OMG! THEY NEED MORE CASHIERS! Someone open jewelry! I just... OMG!" she stomped around huffing and puffing.

About a minute later, the jewelry lady opened and I was next. The bitch slapped me in the shoulder like "GO!! OMG! GO!! NOW! YOU'RE NEXT!" I wanted to just beat the shit out of her.

Do not touch me. Please relax, it's just a small wait at Kohls. You'll live.

If someone would have slapped me in the shoulder to get into line I would have given them a look that would have turned them into stone right then and there in the store, Pan........ your patience is to be commended!

I cannot stand people like that!

I also really dislike people who wait until I've just started to unload my very heavy basket after waiting in line for ages (I try to do a weekly shop in one go. I don't usually have a £1 coin for the small trolley so I get a basket which ends up overflowing and Imogen is carrying things and moaning) and then ask if they can go infront of me because they only have a few items. I always say no and the person always gets REALLY offended like I have personally insulted them.

Ehhh maybe I am being a bitch but I've been carrying a heavy basket, Imogen is moaning, we've waited in line, I've got a bus to catch and I just want to go home. I couldn't care less that they only have a few items and have 30 seconds before they need to go back to work/whatever. Go use a self serve till, go to the cigerette counter or just bloody wait.

Lol thank you. I'll avoid a blow out at all costs, but it might have been worth it this time!

I am not very patient. If I go in a store and they are terribly understaffed I will likely walk out. I am usually on a timeframe and do not have an extra 15 minutes to spare.

I take it you never go to Walmart then :p
I will say, Walmart is the only place I actively avoid if I'm in a hurry. 40 people in 6 lines with 5.5 cashiers who don't, and understandably, give two shits about their job. It's a hot mess.

Routinely, I wait in line longer at Walmart than the time it takes me to shop.

Yea, WalMart is good like that. Gotta love it when the store is crowded and they only have 2 checkouts open, and one of them is express. rofl. WalMart doesn't give two shits either way, they know you'll shop there regardless!

I have walked out of walmart without purchases more than anywhere. The one here has a shift change at 7 AM. For a good bit of the time in the morning they have one checkout opened for the entire supercenter.

As little patience i have for many things, i can definitely tell you that any service employee and food industry will get the most of my patience. I know shit happens, networks crash (believe me, i know this part lol) and sometimes it is not always the waiter's fault.

As far as as how long i would be willing to wait, it all depends on how bad i wanted whatever i needed...

There's nothing worse than working at a store that's totally understaffed because the company of the store is trying to save an extra buck. People complain to you about it, the low-level employee, even though it's beyond your control.
