How often do you all get sick?

It seems like a few times a year, I get a stomach bug, and it puts me down for a few days. I'm home today from work because of one. I'm hoping I feel better after today.

It seems like I get sick more as I age. I hope that's not a trend for me.

Thankfully I don't get sick very often. I might get a cold or two throughout the year, but that's typically it. Last year was rough for me, though. I ended up with cellulitis and a foot infection due to uncontrolled diabetes, which landed me in the hospital for 2 days. A week later, I dropped a butcher knife on my hand while cooking dinner and had to go get 4 stitches. And then 2 weeks after that, I got COVID for the second time.

I have a chronic condition that I developed while I was in college, so I need to take extra care of myself. My immune system is weak, which makes me more susceptible to colds. Last December, I caught the flu, which lasted for over two weeks. Hehe

I'm self-diagnosing here, but I think most of my sickness stems from the potential of me having something called GERD.

I'm actually going to the DR on Thursday for a wellness check (as required by my insurance to keep the premium down). It's the first time I've been to one in at least 15 years. I usually self-treat with home remedies. I don't put a lot of faith and trust in the medical world.

What kind of sickness is that? And yes you are right some doctors only like tu milk the patients. They diagnose a simple sickness serious leading to a patients emotional breakdown.

I'm pretty country, meaning born in a rural environment and used to home remedies and such. It's not that I don't like DRs, it's just I'm used to the way I do it.

GERD is Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and it's when the contents in your stomach move up. Chronic heartburn.

OMG, how's that? You must eat soft food if that is the case. Eat slowly and chew the food well. You must not eat acidic food. Pray all the time. God never fails.

The last time I got sick was 3 years ago. I got dengue, before that I had Corona. I don't get sick too often
OMG, that was horrible you were attacked with deadly viruses, dengue, and COVID-19. You are lucky; you have a strong immune system that can combat viruses.

I have GERD as well. I take Nexium on a daily basis for it. I’ve been taking medications for GERD since I was a teenager. I also have a hiatal hernia in my esophagus.

I don't get sick too often, I did get Covid again last month right around Christmas, but prior to that the last time I was sick I believe was sometime in 2023. When I do get sick, it's pretty bad. Thankfully the last time I got Covid wasn't as bad as the first time I got it. It's still not as bad as the time when I got a nasty virus when I was a Sophomore in High School and I was out of school for a week. I was bed bound for that entire week and ended up getting a cold right after.

I very seldom get sick. I'm more sick in the head (mental health issues) than I am physically. Physically, my doctors have always said I'm in decent condition.

Except for cough and cold, and also stomach ache sometimes I don't get sick. I have no major sickness after I got Corona in 2020

There are times that I go for a whole year without getting sick. I try to take care of myself so that I don't get sick. It is not good for me to be sick because too many things revolve around me.

I rarely get sick, all through last year the highest i got was a little sign of material and after awhile i got better. I could stay a whole year and more and not get sick.

I've heard Nexium is good. Do you think it works good? I'll likely get the generic version from SAMS CLUB.

I also take Nexium daily for GERD. It works well for me. I've found the generic versions don't work quite as well.
