How often do you all get sick?

It seems like a few times a year, I get a stomach bug, and it puts me down for a few days. I'm home today from work because of one. I'm hoping I feel better after today.

It seems like I get sick more as I age. I hope that's not a trend for me.

Thankfully I don't get sick very often. I might get a cold or two throughout the year, but that's typically it. Last year was rough for me, though. I ended up with cellulitis and a foot infection due to uncontrolled diabetes, which landed me in the hospital for 2 days. A week later, I dropped a butcher knife on my hand while cooking dinner and had to go get 4 stitches. And then 2 weeks after that, I got COVID for the second time.

I have a chronic condition that I developed while I was in college, so I need to take extra care of myself. My immune system is weak, which makes me more susceptible to colds. Last December, I caught the flu, which lasted for over two weeks. Hehe

I'm self-diagnosing here, but I think most of my sickness stems from the potential of me having something called GERD.

I'm actually going to the DR on Thursday for a wellness check (as required by my insurance to keep the premium down). It's the first time I've been to one in at least 15 years. I usually self-treat with home remedies. I don't put a lot of faith and trust in the medical world.

I'm pretty country, meaning born in a rural environment and used to home remedies and such. It's not that I don't like DRs, it's just I'm used to the way I do it.

GERD is Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and it's when the contents in your stomach move up. Chronic heartburn.

OMG, how's that? You must eat soft food if that is the case. Eat slowly and chew the food well. You must not eat acidic food. Pray all the time. God never fails.
