Recycling and reducing plastic feel meaningful, but large corporations cause most emissions. Are personal habits enough to make a difference, or should efforts focus more on holding industries accountable?

It depends on how many people are doing. For instance, a single person not using plastic does not have any effect, however, if a community does it will certainly send a positive message

That’s a fair concern. Personal habits matter because they build awareness and collective pressure, but on their own, they can’t offset the scale of industrial pollution. Recycling and reusing are good, but they’re often used to shift responsibility away from corporations and policymakers. Real impact comes when individual actions combine with public demand for regulation, things like cleaner energy, stricter emissions limits, and sustainable supply chains. It’s less about choosing one over the other and more about connecting personal responsibility with systemic accountability.
