You know what people? even if you can't have any of your own, there are thousands of kids in foster care the world that would love to call you Mom and Dad. I for one am completely blessed that my wife and I were able to have kids ourselves, but that's not to say that wouldn't, or won't in the future, adopt another one.

Speaking from experience, adoption can be a true blessing from the adoptee, and the adoptor!

I'd never be allowed to foster because of my criminal record. I do enjoy looking after friends kids from time to time though.

So don't foster, adopt...two different things here in the states. the only way you wouldn't be able to adopt here is if your criminal record included crimes against minors/children

I have one of course...but I want at least one more of my own. call me crazy but I also want to adopt one too. Though I doubt theyd let me.

Yep, my brother and I were both adopted and my youngest sister-in-law was adopted after my in-laws had had custody of her since she was 2 weeks old...her mom was literally a crack whore...she's 12 now and the courts finally let my in-laws adopt her about 3 years ago.

Cool story. I was in foster care, but my mother never gave up rights, so I was never adoptable...but oh how I wanted to be! I'm glad you and yours had a happy ending.

My plan was to adopt if I didn't have my own children by 30. I do think I have something to give, and I have always thought myself a decent role model. And if it means anything Nancy, I still think you would make a great mother
