The second option.

The lack of a degree isn't hindering me at the moment but with revised life goals it will hinder me for sure. I aim to correct that.

i believe that would depend upon your goals....nothing ventured, nothing gained as it is said.

but in all honesty one only limits themselves depending upon the the challenges they wish to undertake and the goals that they truely desire.....yes?

I concur. Which is why I'm investigating further education options to be done whilst working - e.g. an Open University degree and relevant courses for what I want to do.

My only regret is that this is something I could have initiated three years ago instead of this year but I can't claim that time back so best to just move on.

I'm currently in University, studying a Bachelor of Psychology/Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Psychology doesn't really interest me anymore, might be changing into Bachelor of Law/Criminology next year, depending on how everything turns out this semester.

I've also got some vocational qualifications in Business and Information Technology which I picked up in school, but they're practically useless.

I thought about going back and getting one....But damn....Nope. No real reason to for me. If I go back, it will be for gynecology. I should be able to test out in about a week

I thought about it too... but found out that I would be ruining my career. I would have priced myself out of the market.

Took a year of Law School... happily bombed out due to family health issues. I stay in touch with a few people from my class... all of them are now lawyers and MISERABLE.

I couldn't be a gynecologist. I'm guessing it would be like being a wine critic and would suck the joy out of it. "Oh great... another one of THESE... God I need a vacation." :p

:24: I am not sure I would ever get sick of it. I even had a business card slogan already made "Dr. Evan MD OBGYN. You can spread for less bread"

I used to think the same thing till I started getting hints from our co. management that they'd like for me to transition to management at some point.

Now I'm thinking about a PhD in Industrial & System Engineering specializing in engineering management after I get my MS...

If you listened to my wife talking about "fat, smelly, unwashed, crusty, disgusting, vaginas" during here OB/GYN rotations in residency, you might change your mind...
