Modern yoga often focuses on exercise, but its roots lie in spiritual awakening. Do you think yoga’s spiritual side is being lost in its commercialization?

It is very common for people to define yoga as a light impact exercise. However, yoga is not just a physical exercise, it is also emotional and mental exercise. Yoga tries to create a harmony of mind, body and soul.

Yoga extends beyond physical fitness by integrating breath, awareness, and mindfulness with movement. It cultivates mental clarity, emotional balance, and stress regulation. Regular practice fosters self-reflection, presence, and inner calm. Yoga encourages holistic well-being, linking body, mind, and spirit rather than focusing solely on strength, flexibility, or appearance.

I often feel modern yoga emphasizes fitness and flexibility over spiritual growth. While physical practice has benefits, I notice the deeper aspects like mindfulness, meditation, and self awareness, etc. can most of the time get sidelined. I think commercialization risks turning yoga into a trend rather than a holistic path, though individuals can still reclaim its spiritual dimension if they choose.

Yeah right .It's not about physical appearance.
It focuses your attention on your body's abilities at the present moment. It helps develop breath and strength of mind and body.
