u need to get a LAN cable and connect them using that. just use the A/V plugs on each Xbox and connect them to separate tvs.

i hope this explains it

I have that kind of set up but when I go to system link it says there is no connection

do you have to have x-box live to play 2 xboxes side by side?

I'm not totally sure, I don't have an Xbox myself but my I remember my friends mentioning that you need a TV for each Xbox you're trying to connect. So you need AV cables and LAN cables for each Xbox and TV.

what you need is a crossover cable. regular cat5 cables dont transmit information two 2 computers, but to another location that does the switching ( a hub or switch - router ).

you can modify the cat5 cable you have using just a pair of scissors, but that takes a lot of caution, as so you dont cut every wire off, and have to start all over again :tard , so maybe, if you dont trust yourself enough with just scissors, use a pair of wirecutters.

check in the computer and technology section, if this isnt moved there already, for an article on this crossover cable creation. there is a link on how to do it. know this, though, i think that article is the more "professional" way to do it, complete with crimpers, and jacks and stuff, so, if you need any help, pm me or make a post in the c&t section.

good luck. :cool

I only have a cat 5 going from one xbox to another
xbox A has the power cord and A/V cord going to one tv
xbox b has the power cord and A/V cord going to different tv

I have tried 3 different cat 5's and everytime it says on both xboxes that there is no connection

I don't understand what I am supposed to do with the wirecutters/scissors to make it work

I hooked 2 cat5s to an old router... and I think it is going to work

on another subject my xbox has been messing up for a long while where an error msg pops up
it usually says 07 in the upper left and corner and says something like service required

how would you guys suggest fixing this?

or is there some place you can take your xbox to get it serviced?

The router hook up worked perfectly
I took my old busted one to an eb games and got $50 store credit then turned around and got another x-box
after the credit it cost about 70 bucks which isn't too bad

thanks everyone
