and nooo I don't mean drugs :fu

For real though, Do you suffer from Depression?
Have you ever suffered from Depression?

Sometimes it sneaks up on you, it can be a long road to get out of it, some people depend on med's, For others, it is just a challenge they face everyday.

How would you deal with it? how have you dealt with it? Does time solve all wounds?

I "suffered" from it in high school. I dealt with it by playing games and hanging out with my friends as much as I could. Then I got a job, never really thought about it since then. But when I'm drinking it can hit me pretty damn hard still.

depression? or just a down time?

sorry, cant give much advise. i try not to think about such times. they suck.

avoid thinking about the things that suck; if you cant help but to, also think how you can change the situation to where it doesnt have a negative connotation to the thought. otherwise i cant offer much more than that.

Thats why I have a case and a half of beer sitting here but don't usually drink alone. If I'm out and about I'm in a really good mood, but drunk in the apartment, alone... sucks.

Drinking, Specially alone Yeah is really not good for people who are prone to Depression.

For some it can end when they sober up, for others it stays for the long haul.

I got depression pretty hard when I was a teenager.

I started to show signs of it when my family moved to Canada (I missed Norway), and then when I was fifteen my best friend died of bone cancer, and that triggered it really bad.

I was already on meds for an anxiety disorder, and they're similar medications, so I just got some more intense therapy. I'm still on medication, and I guess it helps. Therapy really helps though. Talking things out is a really big reliever for it. And sometimes it's chemical, so the meds help too. It depends.

I haven't really suffered from depression much that I know of. Quite the opposite really, I have dealt with anxiety before. I just took some meds to regulate the seratonin in the ole noodle and I am just fine now... I think. Unfortunately, with anxiety there really isn't any other way to deal with it other than meds or therapy. I imagine depression is the same way. There are plenty of things you can do to control it for short periods of time, but it will most likely come back again if it goes untreated.

i'm against meds...i'm more for trying to get off my own ass and get some sense back into me...

Some times that just doesn't work though. I didn't like the idea of having to take a mood altering drug either, but it sure as hell helped and it was sure as hell better than continuing with the anxiety related panic attacks. That is a horrible feeling, I must say.

I know exactly what you mean, white. Anxiety and depression can both be chemical, too, and medications target that aspect of it, and as long as you're continuing therapy it should be okay.
I've grown up with anxiety and depression both, and it's completely a miserable deal. Panic attacks could even trigger down-spells for me, since it almost feels like you're going to die.
Meds have helped, though.

Yeah, it's hell. Tight chest, short breath, dizzy, pounding heart, shaking, stiffness. I feel like I'm going to just keel over, and I'm completely unable-to-move terrified.

The first time I thought I was gonna die of a heart attack, my chest hurt so bad. I've actually passed out a couple times.

When I was really little, I had selective mutism (anxiety disorder that makes it impossible to speak in stressful situations), and my parents got me into all this speech therapy, because they thought I was just having trouble learning English. And then when I got older, I started getting panic attacks. The thing is, when I was little, I could speak fine, and I would try to speak, but I just couldn't, and that would get me even more anxious.

Deep Depression is hard to control, And anxiety sometimes is a reaction of it.

And med's dont always help, Sometimes you just never want to leave your home, dealing with people can be the worst and hardest to do.

Trying to act like everythings ok when your head is just screaming to dissapear
