Type on a keyboard or use a calculator. I have trouble typing when mine get any length.

No clue, I can't stand long nails. The sensation of having anything under them skeeves me out. I'd also like to use my hands, thanks.

I don't have long nails for that reason... but I have seen my bestie type like crazy with long nails.. she uses them to type.

My mother could do everything w/long nails. Alas, my nails don't grow at all but I don't really care. I keep them filed rounded and clean and that's about it.

Just like with anything, some people do go over the top. imho. Must take her a while to get her ring on and off. Imagine breaking one of those? She's probably got them insured.

Bwahahaha, that's the reason why I (when shopping at H&M) always lay the creditcard plain on the desk. It's fun watching the staff trying to take up the card. :D

@topic: If someone knows, how to type with long nails then please tell me. :ninja

:yuk :yuk Those two pictures turned my stomach!!!.. :yuk:yuk

When I was a teenager, I used to be a hand and hair model, but I never wore my nails long enough to interfere with anything I did..
I can't stand to see women type with their nails!.. :ninja

I wear my nails very short, because they get tangled in my keyboard.. it's not easy to look for the keys and type with two fingers!.. :D

I have many animals to take care of, and also like working with my plants and gardening.. Taking dirt from under them is not my idea of a good time.. :willy_nilly:

I have long nails, not freakishly long IMO, but long. My hands just lay flatter on the keyboard when my nails are grown out than when they're clipped. I have a hard time functioning with short nails, actually. It's always a weird feeling when I break a nail or trim them down. I underestimate how far I have to reach for things.

And by long, my nails stick out past my fingers tips by about a quarter inch before I trim them back. Any longer than that and they hurt.

Now typing on my blackberry is a bitch.

Whenever I have fake nails it doesn't change things (I never have them too long, though). You type w/ your fingertips, not your nail...so you just angle your hands different (like Kim said..."flatter"). *shrugs*
