So who else in this forum enjoys Hockey? I happen to be a huge fan of the NHL, I keep tabs with everything in it, the NHL, WHL, AHL, or the Olympics. It's something I'm very passionate about. :D

Oh noes, not the Laffs... you guys went through a lot the past season, lol. Let's hope Schenn was worth it :p

I'm an Oiler fan myself. :)

i use to be big fan up until they went on strike a couple years back

ffs, made me mad so now i only watch the playoffs, :(

Why would it make you mad? Yeah Bettman hasn't done a very good job but the new CBA looks somewhat positive and having a new schedule this upcoming season should be great. I can't wait to meet the Eastern Conference more.

Bahaha I'd laugh really hard if Sundin doesn't go to Vancouver, anywhere but there please, yeah you guys are really going to make the draft lottery this upcoming season, hope you lose it since the Leafs are there to always make fun of. ;)

Depends if Visnovsky works out for us, I was a little upset that Pitkanen left. Understandable since he didn't look like he wanted to play out here anyway. I hope Cole does well in the top line but it makes me wonder where Penner will play, I know he's a top six forward but I really don't want to break a line which worked out so well for us last season. Gagner-Nilsson and Cogliano done a very fine job and I'm sort of afraid of a sophmore jinx coming up with them. As far as our new acquistion Brule, I wonder where he'll be. btw I hate Souray in my team, lmao!

I don't mind the 1a and 1b combo with Garon and Roloson, just kinda iffy about Garon since he did have past streaks before and hopefully last season wasn't a streak. His contract was a steal. As far as Roloson, a very expensive back up which I was very disappointed in last season, he's old, he's slow.

As far as Schremp coming up, it honestly depends on our coach, we know he's coming up when he's ready to be a top 6 forward and I personally believe we're fine in the top 6 so where will Schremp go but back in the AHL since being on a 3rd or 4th line would be useless

aww.... the day we win the Stanley cup, is the day i have grand children LOL

and as for Sundin, i doubt he will go to the Canucks cuz the way i see it, is that he is getting old, the only benefit it would be for him is if he went to a stanley cup contentender and Canucks arn't defiently one :p He wont go back to Leafs for sure cuz its not his team anymore, all new faces basically... Souray is coming back from an injury, but hell he did score a lead leading 26 goals i beleive (this is top of my head :p) and with Gagner slowly improving and the new contract Horcoff signed there gonna defiently be a playoff team :D

You oilers will DEFIENTLY rank high in your division, cuz of your tightly improved defense,

Pffft here I thought it was when Hell freezes over :p

The only way Sundin is going to a contender is if he took a huge discount, he should join either Detriot, Flyers or Pens. I heard a stupid Rangers rumor though but I don't keep up with the media lately since it's too biased and hearing more about Sundin sucks. :p

I really hope Gagner developes more better and has more points this season, also I wouldn't mind if the Oilers spent less time in the shootout, lol! As long as they're playing like they did since January then we'll be fine. Horcoff should be back from his injury as well, how embarassing is it to get hurt in the All Star game, seriously. I don't mind the contract extension, he took a fair price in today's standards. I mean come on Gomez with what 10mil?

As far as defense, I think we just ended up being the same as last season, just hopefully our PP QB works out for us in the PP, that was our death last year.

I already know those lacrosse type of moves, he's doing a ton more better in our system and looks like he can work with anybody. The only problem the Oilers really had was his attitude but he's changed so much in the past couple of seasons. We just need to find him a top 6 spot, which is hard to find when you have Cole, Gagner, Nilsson, Hemsky, Horcoff, Cogliano and Penner taking up his space.

Souray in the PP, I only really noticed one thing out of him, he never gets creative with the puck, is very selfish on the point and will take a shot which nothing comes out of it. It annoyed me when he was here, especially when another man was open for a better chance getting it behind the net. The goalies always move forward especially with him there as well since you always know he's going to take the shot.

Sundin in Detriot BAHAHAHHAHA yeah right, Sundin with the Stanley Cup can never happen, he can't get into the HHOF please :O

Some players do, but MacT has this hate thing for him and wants to break his attitude down completely so he'd be selfless.

No kidding but for a PP specialist he was rather useless <_<

I know he did break that record and if TO has a thing to say, it'll be him making the HHOF :( If you put in Sundin then you should also put in Bure :p

Pavel Bure... the Russian rocket, he will prolly make the HHOF in the future, thats the great part of HHOF you wont make it the second you retire, but if your good, you'll defiently make it soon ;)

Why not just let everybody just go in the HHOF, every single NHL player. :p IMO it's watering it down quite a bit :(

to make the HHOF.... you need to show dominance in the sport, great leadership... like showing you made an IMPACT on your team, or your stats will prove it, i'm saying Sundin showed great leadership, he was an all start over 10 times, he scored around 1321 points..... well if you compare it the rest of the roster, i doubt wellwood or Tucker did anything remotely close to that :p

I loved this Article I read before

10 reasons why Sundin should not be in the HHOF

10. Has never led his team to great heights.

9. Has just 16 more points (1,321) than games played (1,305) during his 17-season career. Very good, but not great.

8. He never posted a 50-goal season and had just one 100-point season. Pavel Bure had two 60-goal seasons and two more with 58 and 59 and he's an outsider.

7. His 1,321 career regular season points are impressive, but not good enough. Adam Oates has been rejected two straight induction years and he retired with 1,420 points. Same with Doug Gilmour and his 1,414 points.

6. His 555 career regular season goals are impressive, but not good enough. Dino Ciccarelli has 608 and he has been rebuffed and Dave Andreychuk (640) won't get in when he's first-time eligible in 2009.

5. Has averaged less than a point per game in the playoffs in his career.

4. Has never been a first-team all-star. (He has been a second-teamer twice.)

3. Has never won an individual award.

2. Has never won a Stanley Cup - or even made it to the final.

1. Has rarely played at a level where he's considered among the top few players at his position. He has been loyal, durable, his production has been remarkably consistent, but he hasn't crossed the line between being a very, very good player and a truly exceptional player

theres so many factors that effected those results lol

look who was on his line for his entire career.... like this year lol, players like Bure had better players playing with him :p

you cant compare a player with points really, it always depends whose he playing with :p, like Crosby for instant, i doubt if lined with Fedotenko and taffee.... he would still record as many points as he did before

if you compare any teams now... the pens or even the caps, they do have star players, but they got talent all way around there team, the leafs dont.... there goaltending is weak, defense is weak and only have 2-3 good forwards.... the shots of a team a low amount of talent or skill would have a lot lower chance of even making the stanley cup finals compared to a team who has high talent....
