What sucks even more is Nashville won last night too, putting them further ahead of the Flames and Wings.
If the Wings don't make the play-offs, it'll end an 18 year streak for making the post season for them.
The longest in NHL history.
The longest playoff streak in NHL history belongs to the Bruins. They made the playoffs for 29 straight years from 1968 to 1996. I actually thought it was the Blues who held the record but I went and looked it up. (I've been nailed once too often on cf.com so I always look things up now.) :D

Not everything is a competition
:)
And I suggest you remind the writers of the CF.com site, because that's where I read that.

and the years since that had been snapped, I for one, have been suffering more heartache than anything else. Joe Thornton/Sammy Samsonov were supposed to be trained into being the face of the franchise. Sadly, both are gone and I really don't think Milan Lucic is the face of the Bruins. People are calling for Cam Neely to be the next coach and fire Claude Julien. I say no to this. okay, the season is not over but the least the Bruins could do is really get involved with a someone who is a genuine scorer and can consistently light the lamp. I don't want latch keys and am sick of waiting for a Cup. other teams have armed themselves pretty well and done good. Still can't believe last year's playoffs. We looked white hot against the
Canadiens and then looked horrible in the 'Canes. Momentum going into the 'Canes series was huge and they disappointed me. One or two rounds out is not fun, not at all....

Tell me about it! The Flames put in a run once every few decades but other than that go out in the first round. It makes me want to smash things! :willy_nilly:

You miss nothing with Thornton gone

He might be the worst star in big games in the history of the sport
 Thornton is the epitomy of choke. I still can't figure out why they put him on team Canada for the Olympics. At least his lack of clutch play didn't hurt them too much.
