You're barely holding onto a playoff spot right now :p

In other news, we're only 5 points back of San Jose for the division now after beating Tampa Bay for our 6th straight win :D

You forget how we have played lately and the fact we finally are healthy

Should be a slam dunk making it to the playoffs and I would not be wanting to face them in the first round

might cooke be a healthy scratch

Tough call. The team wasn't too thrilled with him re: the hit. In fact, I was surprised he wasn't a healthy scratch in the next game just as a sort of punishment. Given that, they'll probably play him. In fact, I rather they play him and he takes his lumps rather than one of our star players just gets taken out for retribution.

I have to say, the NHL has been piss poor lately. Downie's take down of Crosby was absolutely uncalled for and really dirty.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHeh3tyUL10 (wait until 1:20 for the slow close up...it's ugly)

Also, (and let me add a disclaimer that I HATE Ovechkin) I think that Cooke's hit, Richard's hit, and Downie's piece of shit slew foot/leg wrap were way worse than Ovechkin's hit. While Ovechkin's hit was ugly, if you really watch it, they were pretty far out from the boards when he hit him. While I think Ovechkin should know that when you hit someone like that, there is potential for injury, Campbell's head was up and he loses his edge AFTER he's hit. Out of the four, that one was probably the least offensive (despite a bad injury being the result) and that's the one they decide to go after. Pfft. Downie's bullshit was CLEARLY intentional and meant to cause harm. I don't know how you could accidently wrap your leg around someone, grab their hand and drag them down. Cooke's and Richards I'd class next and then Ovechkin's last.

Well, here's the latest: http://postgazette.com/pg/10077/1043861-100.stm

BOSTON -- Penguins left winger Matt Cooke is front-page news in this city.
And not just the front page of the sports section.
Cooke has been reviled in Boston since March 7, when he gave Bruins center Marc Savard a Grade 2 concussion with a hit to the head late in the Penguins' 2-1 victory at Mellon Arena.
The cover of today's Boston Herald, the city's tabloid newspaper, is dominated by a depiction of a "Wanted" poster, with a photo of Cooke in the middle.
Above the picture, in large type, is the word "WANTED."
Below it, is somewhat smaller type reading "... AT LEAST ONE BRUIN WILLING TO TEACH THIS BUM A LESSON."
The Penguins and Bruins will play at 7:08 tonight at the TD Garden.

Regardless, this is going to be a throwdown. Pens had their asses handed to them by the Devils last night (turnovers KILLED us). First time we've been swept by the Devils...I think the last time was when they were the Rockies so I don't know if that counts or not. But not good. So, they have something to prove tonight. BUT Boston's going to be en fuego. So, will be interesting to say the least!

if the Bruins are smart they will wait to see who Pittsburgh puts on their lines. and if Cooke is out there for the puck-drop, Thornton will be there and do his stuff. but we really need the points so....

Bettman wants them to fight, he needs the ratings

After all of the shenanigans going on the past week or so, I have to agree with that assessment. However, I have a feeling what will happen is that they'll line Cooke up on his first shift, the gloves will be dropped and it'll be over; anticlimactic even.
