I thought it was a crazy idea and she would never accept.

I think it boils down to how the democrats handled things this week as they prepared for the next congress.

She is not a flaming liberal. But the congress is moving that way.

This might be a calculated brilliant move to separate herself from the far left who are in control now.

The country will not recover in 4 years and she will have the added experience on her resume.

Unless there is a miraculous turnaround in two years she will leave and start the campaign for president in 2012

Very goods analysis. Should anyone want to take the time and review the differences between his Highness and Hillary you will find that when it comes to foreign affairs they do not agree on anything. For all intents and purposes she called Obama an idiot during the campaign when it came to foreign affairs. She's right. Frankly, she is much more of a hawk than the average liberal. She's got balls and she's not stupid. What she is doing is called political positioning.

She is strong on international issues but know nuts abt economics

Also very correct.

Even an idiot can be right sometimes, just look at Trekguy. :D Not that I calling you or Trekguy idiots. ;)

now that is a low blow.

better than a Bassett or Pooch though:D

I don't know why more people did not figure it out. There was no logic to leave the senate as she would have ended up being there longer than Teddy probably. So it had to be positioning for 4 years from now.

won't be hard for her to get out of it. she will just say that they had philosophical differences.

I do feel sorry for the rest of the world. Now they have to put up with her crap :D

I wonder how long before they get tired of the Change that is put into place. :24:

Yes, apparently Obama defines "change" as Bush to Clinton 3rd term. :D

well that might be better than the Obama who was campaigning. Clinton was more conservative than GWB in my view by a landslide. He was a pussy when it came to fighting terrorists but he knew enough to get out of the way with regard to the economy.

It is refreshing taking a break from political talk. I come back and it's the same old round and round and some portion of you continue to bad mouth Obama and he's not even in office yet. Such is the nature of partisan politics. Just admit, (you know who you are) you'd love to see him fall on his sword because you're desperately seeking vindication that nothing good can come from a relatively liberal leader.

Change in direction does not mean the government top spots are staffed with all new unheard of people as even the unheard of people guarantee nothing in the way of political/policy change. But a major difference is that in Obama you have a leader who is a leader and is going to direct change (whether you like the direction or not) vs the previous joe-six pack president who hired in people who told him what to do.

It's interesting the Obama was giving press conferences while joe was pardoning turkeys. ;)

In a conference yesterday ( a project of Bill Clinton's charitable Clinton Foundation) Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said Obama has in his new economic team some of the brightest and most experienced minds in America who are "capable of thinking of all the sums and equations" in the current downturn.
Turning to the downturn Mr Clinton sought Mr Lee's view on how long it would last.
"The only people who can tell you that are those working on the current difficulties, some of the brightest and most experienced minds in America - Paul Volcker, Larry Summers, Tim Geithner and a panel behind them," said Mr Lee
