Ok the numbers start from the bridge. The part you tune with. *winks*

the number stands for the fret you press on that particular string.

Best explanation yet! Thank you! I asked on another board and they never specified really where the numbers start. That makes sense. Now all I gotta do is learn it.

This thing needs tuned too. haha

Yeah I learned that the hard way when I was tuning my old acoustic. I twisted the wrong way and popped the string. 12 bucks later I had it tuned and restrung. haha

Get a tuner so you can tune to whatever you want at the drop of the hat. Drop d is nice for metal, but James is more interested in doing covers so. He'd need to be able to tune to both. : )
