not knowing what the hell I'm looking at I'm just trying to strum the strings according to the chart... but what the hell do the numbers mean?

Best explanation yet! Thank you! I asked on another board and they never specified really where the numbers start. That makes sense. Now all I gotta do is learn it.

Get an electric one. Like 15 20 bucks. You will love yourself for doin it. Trust me...

I think I have one that came in the package with the guitar and amp. I just need to find what I did with it.

Good! Its so quick. When you tune. Remember to tune the string tighter and then down to the note.

Yeah I learned that the hard way when I was tuning my old acoustic. I twisted the wrong way and popped the string. 12 bucks later I had it tuned and restrung. haha

Get a tuner so you can tune to whatever you want at the drop of the hat. Drop d is nice for metal, but James is more interested in doing covers so. He'd need to be able to tune to both. : )
