are ya jealous :D

Yes I am AA and I think that was very nasty of you for showing me that.

But not to be outdone.... this is Mrs.Guyzerrs up and coming 30th anniversary gift from me. :24: I just told her about it yesterday. She was ... um... thrilled when I invited her to tag along if she wanted to. She said she would.

I plan on going to this one on Sept 3 which happens to be my 30th wedding anniversary.

Everett, Wa. is only 100 miles from where I live so we'll leave about 6:30AM, have some breakfast on the way, take in the show and get a motel or hotel by the ocean for the night and do some shopping at the outlet mall on Sunday before we go home.. I hope the weather holds for the airshow. There's nothing I like more than warbirds.

When you open the link check the aircraft section.

For goodness sake AA find a neighbor father and son team and drag their ass to the show. It's free and they have a lot of great aircraft planned. I would kill for a chance to see it. It's what ours used to be like back in the good old days.

I miss air shows... my dad was stationed at Mather AFB in Sacramento and we lived like 5 minutes from the base, so we saw planes all the time. Then the air shows there were amazing. But, that paled in comparison to the air shows we got in San Antonio when I lived about 10 minutes from Randolph AFB.

Growing up as a child, nothing beat growing up on SAC bases. Back then as kids, we were even given permission to watch the runway with our fathers. "Open houses" were the best as well.

I actually called my dad because in the upcoming air show here in Winston, they are going to have a F104 Starfighter (or as I remember my dad calling it, "catch a falling starfighter" LOL)

That was an amazing piece of machinery. These are scanned from slides that I took over 35 years ago. ( I have lots of things in my vault :D )

Can you remember what else they were called? ;) WooWo Bird :thumbup was one name and another was Widowmaker :thumbdown.

Thanks for the pics, funny, I NEVER once thought of them as being flown in Canada:D

It was called the widowmaker for a reason. My understanding was it was not a pilots favorite plane to fly. Just looking at the fuselage compared to the wings should give you an idea as to why LOL.

Love your pics. Do you have more older ones on your website?

My dad still has old 8MM home films of on base with all those "old" planes (I'm more than glad I got some of those to DVD). Growing up at our house, it was always the Voodoo, Delta Dagger, Delta Dart and Thuderchief. Heck, my dad still has his "Super sonic Voodoo" stickers up on the garage doors LOL It was hard however, as a child, to have any plane every top the Blackbird.

Um.... we actually had quite an air force at one time.

It's wingspan was just over 21' if I recall correctly. It also had a very sharp leading edge and quite a few ground crew were injured by just walking into it. I have heard pilots playing Three Blind Mice in unison when they were sitting on the ground. :24: It was at a Canadian air base the day before an airshow in about '75. I used to pit for an American aerobatics pilot when he preformed in Canada so I was able to attend many shows and had access to lots of areas out of bounds for most people.

I don't have a website but I do post quite a few of my shots here. Feel free to look around when you have time..... http://www.airport-data.com/photographers/Guy+Pambrun;408/

The F-101 " Voodoo " is my fav from days gone by. I saw those fly many times and would love to see it in the air again. It's a jolt even on the ground when those afterburners light up.

Here's a couple sights we'll never see again. They were taken at airshows during the days where you could walk wherever you wanted too and that's the reason there isn't many people around them. btw these were not in the public viewing areas. :D I'm guesstimating that I would have shot them somewhere around the same period as the other ones.

Was your dad a civilian or a military man? Not that it matters, I'm just curious.

Canadair built about 200 of 'em. Surprisingly enough many companies all over the world built those lawn darts.

I know, but being Canada, I just figured they were some souped up piper cubs with some Remington .22's thrown on the wings LMAO

Just joking:surrender

Kind of funny. What's an F-22 going for nowadays? Over 160 million each? Added the fact that you're looking at least a days maintenance for every hour flying and I can't help but wonder where you draw the line on technology.

That's funny shit right there. :thumbup We do have a couple of F-18's that we rip around in. If we keep the flying unorganized and just punch holes in the sky the enemy think we have hundreds of 'em. :24:

No you're not!

We got suckered into buying a bunch of 'em. The scary thing is they haven't fired a shot or dropped one bomb in testing yet. My grandsons will be paying for those things for ions. btw, they are all grounded until they sort out the problem with the oxygen system that keeps killing the drivers.
