If sinning is doing the devils work...

Why would God send you to hell? Isn't that playing right into the Devils hand? Is it just Christianity that gives Hell a bad spin?

I would think that if you were evil enough to do satans work, he would reward you for disobeying the deity that cast him from Heaven.

Hell is bad in the sense that if you don't do all the little, petty, stupid things the church tells you, you'll go to hell. It's basically a scare tactic to get you believe in a religion so you won't go to hell for being a non believer. If people are truly evil and want to go there then ya, I understand your point that it would be a sort of reward.

People either want to love the Lord or they don't. They either want to have a relationship with God or they don't. If they want to be in relationship with Him then they will be with him for eternity. If they don't, He is not going to force us to be with Him. Just like we are not forced to believe in Him, go to church, love others, be humble, be kind, or be generous now. It is our choice.

It is our choice to believe, love, and respect God's love and provision for us or to reject it or to believe it is all hocus pocus. If one truly believes it is all hocus pocus then they have nothing to concern themselves with.

If people claim to believe in God, then it would most beneficial to them to truly read the Bible. Read the Bible and cross reference other texts that help to totally explain the who, what, where, whens and hows of the time and culture it was written in. The Bible was written for all people, at all times, and in all places. So we have to know the hows and whats to know how or if it is applicable today or just in that particular case. Reading the Word of God in context is life changing. The few issues in the Bible that people that cannot totally agree on should not detract from the Bible's main message. But because of our sinful spirits that is exactly what we do - we are the ones that detract from it's beautiful message. The main purpose and message of the Bible is crystal clear to those that honestly and sincerely seek it.

Hell has nothing to do with what the church tells us to do. It is all about what God tells us to do and how we respond to Him. It is about our own walk with the Lord, not someone else's.

God's never told me what to do. If he did, I'd be a believer.

Yes blah blah... What I'm trying to say is even a believer who sins and doesn't "repent" will go to hell where they will "burn" for their sins.

But I believe that to be a scare tactic. Why would the Devil punish one for doing his deeds on earth? he is so heartless and so evil, that he wants people to kill others, cheat, steal, murder, etc.

If one does, why would they be punished? That is the question.

This comes off as rude. I hope that is not how you meant it.

The Devil doesn't like us. He hates us.
Read the Bible and find out why (this is not meant as sarcasm).

Someone sent me a good video about the Devil. I'll see if I can find it and post it. If you believe in God and in spiritual warfare (the battle for our souls) it really makes you stop and think.

I didn't want it to be rude, but God and our supposed necessity to have love for him wasn't the point. I don't believe in God or Satan, but I wanted to throw this out there for you to rebutt. This is purely about Satan and why he would punish us for doing his deeds once God cast us aside as a nonbelieving sinner.

If the devil is mean, rude and hateful. And person A is mean, rude and hateful.

Why would he punish you for going through life doing his deed. That would be like God punishing you for spreading the word of God. It's hypocritical.

Shouldn't you be able to tell us why?

i do believe in god, i guess in satin to a certain extent, but he is kind of a pussy i think, like a big baby who cant find mommy. i dont believe in hell on the other hand. i think all roads lead to god, good and bad. yes, i do agree, hell is a scare tactic, but even more, i think its mans evil thoughts, ones that feel they need to see bad people burn forever or something. what a sad thought, no comapassion in these peoples hearts. to me, hell is feeling guilty deep down, and feeling totally alone because of it. im not saying everyone is capable of guilt in this world, but i think after, in "that" place, if u go to "hell" you are made to feel the worste pain, and its not physical, but that mental anguish of knowing how lost you are. to me, i think thats the worst pain, to feel really horrible about yourself. but to feel this pain, one would be shown the error in it all, which is the first step toward retribution. i do not wish for hitler to be punished forever, i wish him to feel the pain of realization, and work towards coming back and helping what he may have hurt.

So smoking cigarettes and having a few drinks sends you to hell?

again, nothing will send u to hell (although some may not want to hear this, cause they think it will let everyone run free.) but if sin is doing wrong, then smoking butts would be one. to take what was givin to us and possibly cutting it short because of an addiction is crazy!( and im a smoker!). drinking, hmm, hard one. they had a little drink at the last supper, but not to get wasted.

I was unaware there was a difference. I mean, they sure talk about hell alot at the church I used to attend.(quite a while ago)

I don't recall my pastors ever directly talking about Hell. They were to preach the bible and the word of God. If it came up with scripture they'd mention it.

Anyway, I'm just not seeing the correlation of burning in hell for eternity. If it's eternity, you're immortal in the afterlife (if there is one) so I don't see how you could really be bothered by it?

Why won't god just let us rest in peace if we don't believe in him? I mean, he's certainly in a position to make that happen, why does he LET (I'm not saying he sends us there) people go to hell, just because they choose not to believe? I think thats extraordinarily bad of god to let innocent people go to hell for simply living their own life.

Also, if god loves us...and the devil hates us, as you claim...wouldn't someone who loves us try to stop someone who has it out for humanity? It seems awfully irresponsible for him to sit back and watch.
