Has anyone..

Well, we were at BWW last night and the waitress had 7 of us all at once. With my friends who like to give people a hard time, she was running around trying to make us all happy and, IMO, did an excellent job. So when the bill came, my one friend who is broke didn't (couldn't, I should say) tip her at all, so I got my bill which was 11.42 so I just doubled it for her. I figured it'd make up for the lack of tip off another check.

yep, on more than one occasion.
One, sat at a table in a restaurant with a client discussing things and told the waitress when we were done, "I know I knocked you out of at least two tips, so here's $100 and keep the change." bill was like for $45 or something...

One was EXTREMELY good service. I was like, "best service ever! double the bill!"

I have before, especially for those situations where you have five or ten folks on a business dinner and one poor girl or guy working his/her ass off, personally I think they deserve a boost.

However, my company will only cover a 15% gratuity, everything else comes out of my pocket, and I do prcaitcally always come out of my pocket.

The last time I took a large group out everyone in the group came out with a 20 dollar bill, that was 200 bucks in cash, then on top of that I swiped the normal 15%...So it was easily a 300+ cash payday for that girl. I think the total bill was in the order of 900-1000 dollars. So after we all chipped a 20, she got around 100-150 from the gratuity that was charged.

Money well spent for great service, and for someone struggling to get through college and work full time.

I hate tipping.. Shouldn't have to tip them, the employer should bloody well pay them properly..

And no.. who's stupid enough to give 100% tip?
