Most people around here don't fry their turkeys, actually. It's become pretty popular, but most of us still do it the old fashioned way.

Now, fried pickles (if done right) are the shizznit!!! They have to be slices, not spears, and they have to have a good pickle to batter ratio...and you HAVE to dip them in ranch dressing. Yummmmmmmmmmmmy!!!

I've heard of the fried coke, but never tried it...I assume they use coke in the batter and fry it up??? And I've never tried the deep fried snickers bar at the far, either. *shrugs*

I looked up a scotch egg to see...doesn't sound similar.

By the way, just to clarify, what you call pickles, we call gerkins. Pickles over here is any food that is pickled in vinegar, mainly onions, cucumbers (gerkins) and eggs but can be any kind of food, I've even tried pickled lemons before.:yuk

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, okay...I see. I think, over here, gerkins are a particular KIND of pickle (smaller than, say, a dill pickle).
