So you don't think it's a choice?

So how about this... we all have reasons to be unhappy... or depressed. I can think of 10 right now, and yet I choose instead to be happy about the good things in my life... and how I am continuing to improve myself and my surroundings.

When there is a chemical imbalance, or when people have physical issues that conflict with that, sure... it's understandable. But when people don't, I think we have a choice.

We choose everything. We choose our mood, our state of mind, our existence. Why not choose to be happy, in a good mood, to continually improve ourselves? It's certainly better than feeling depressed, sorry for yourself, and a whining all the time about it.

Everyone is built differently.. We all react differently to all the different things that happen to us during our different lives. No two people have lived the exact same life either.

Therefor it can be a choice for some, and not others.

But what makes them suck? Who's fault is it?

For instance, I've been in a couple bad relationships. Is it the person who I was in the relationship with who was at fault because I was unhappy? Or was it mine because I chose to stay with that person, even though I was unhappy?

If I run a red light and t-bone you at an intersection, it'll my fault that your life sucks 'cause you're paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.

There are infinite possible ways to explain why people don't have complete control over there lives.

Not talking about our lives... talking about our state of mind. I think we certainly have control over that.

And - most people don't have life changing catastrophes like that happen to them... and with any luck those people decide to face those challenges and overcome them vs. just letting life get the better of them.
