Haircutting at home is child abuse?

My friend's mother used to work at a hairdressers and she would let the trainee hairdressers practise cutting and dying on my friend. My friend had some truely AWFUL hair disasters. I remember when one of them tried to bleach her hair and instead of going blonde like it was meant to, the person used too much bleach and kept it on too long and my friend's hair went white and started to fall out :willy_nilly:

My mom punished me once. I had very long hair. I could sit on it. She got tired of hearing me whine & cry when she'd comb it out and took me to the beauty parlor to get a pixie cut. I was 6 and it devastated me.

When PBBB was small I used to cut her bangs. I still do on occasion but usually cough up the $12 to get her hair done at the local SuperCuts.

Never once have I had her hair cut as punishment for complaining about combing it out since I know first-hand how bad that is.

To say cutting your kids hair at home to save money is punishment is wrong. Unless it happens like it did to me.

bald aint so bad....I'm too sexy for my hair...too sexy for my hair....lalalalalaaaa:24::24::24::24::24:

I'm bald right now.. :willy_nilly:

I asked my son, when he got his cut, if he wanted a cut like Dad's.. I said, I can shave you right bald and draw 3 little circles on top of your head so people can think your a bowling ball.. Got he laughed till tear came down his face.. :D:24:

When my stepson was 2 my husband cut his hair and his ex called the cops and told them he was cutting his hair to change his identity so he could kidnap him!!! ha i HATE crazy ex girlfriends!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that is total crap. My father used to cut my hair at home, and it was fine!
But of course, it would be abuse if you purposely cut off all your child's hair.

That is probably one of the strangest things Ive heard this morning, my mom would cut my hair all the time, yes I would kick and scream but not from abuse...from my mother thinking that a bowl cut look cute on alittle girl. Which it might, but I was not one of the lucky ones.

I wouldn't kick and scream, I was thankful that my dad did mine at home. I hated going to the hairdressers.
