Guidlines for alcohol purchases where your from?

My brother said he has been cussed out more in the last 2 weeks than ever in his life. They have to ID everyone. He had to ID a guy the other day that we've known since I was a freshman in highschool (*cough*1990*cough*).

I was trying to remember what the signs say at Wal-mart...and I think it says 35, but I'm not sure.

What about the grocery stores, can you buy alcohol there??? Here in GA you can buy wine and beer in the grocery stores and convenience stores but your liquor has to be purchased at a liquor store (sorry, I never have called them "package stores").

TN had the most screwed up liquor laws I have ever seen. Wine and liquor, if I remember correctly, must be sold in a liquor store and the liquor stores can't sell anything else like corkscrews or whatever.

We can buy liquor at grocery/supermarket stores here. We had a few Agency liquor stores here but most of them in the area went out of business. The little market down the hill is a licensed agency store.
 
You can buy everything except hard liquor at Walmarts in AL. And you can get it all at the package store, mom and pop liquor stores, or state stores.

It's all cold too lol. Well, you can get it hot or cold .. depending on what you prefer. Some of our gas stations have beer caves too. Some of our grocery stores/Walmarts have some of the best wine selections in town too.

Can't buy hard liquor at Walmart here either but they sell Margarita mixes and what not I believe... Go figure.
 
In NC the laws are pretty simple.

- Can't purchase alcohol before noon on Sundays
- Can't purchase alcohol if you're already intoxicated UNLESS you're at a bar or a club, and it's at the discretion of whoever is serving you.
- If there is a group of you together when only one of you is purchasing alcohol, the person selling it to you has the right to card EVERYONE in the group, and refuse to sell it to you if there's anyone under 21 in the group.
- Bars/clubs are required to sell some sort of food/snacks if they sell alcohol, and it must be served the entire time they serve alcohol (IE: If they serve alcohol til 2am, they are required to serve food til 2am)
- In a bar/club you cannot have more than one opened alcoholic drink in front of you at a time.

LOL!! Well back in the days when I was partying hard, the rule where you can only have one drink at a time was killing me!! I partied with the guys I worked with and they would all be buying me drinks but the bartender would only let me have them one at a time! By the end of the night the bartender was like "You still have like 5 drinks owed to you..." I'd have credit drinks for the next time! :D


*sigh*

I miss clubbing.....
