Trying this again...first one seems not to be working or something.

So last week was great...it was the first time my mother and I have taken a vacation together in nearly 20 years. But this week is totally different.

Yesterday I was driving home from getting my hair cut and it started hailing. I didn't think much about it until I noticed a brand new crack in my windshield. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Then today I guess one of our cell phone towers got taken out by the storm. I didn't have service on my phone for almost the entire day. I finally decide to take a nice bubble bath by candlelight and, in the middle of my nice bath, my phone decides to go back in service at which time all my text messages from the entire day start rolling in. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

So yeah...I guess it's pretty petty, but it's just one of those "grrr, if it wasn't for bad luck" type things. Can't believe I've barely had my car a year and now I've got to replace the windshield.

Is that covered by insurance?

I think so. I've got a $100 deductible on my Comprehensive. I need to check my policy to make sure it covers "acts of God"...if it doesn't then the hail is going to become a rock. LOL

Sometimes you can have the crack fixed (instead of replacing the whole thing), if it's not over the size of a quarter.

I might have a good chance b/c it's really a pretty small crack. There IS hope!!!

Yeah .. they fill the crack with liquid glass .. it's a pretty good fix. I've had it done.

Awesome...thanks for the tip!!! I've got to take my car in for it's 20,000 mile service anyway, so I'll just have it done then.

I know, I know!!! I used to have Verizon but I switched to Nextel so I could be like all the other cool kids. I have free incoming calls, though, and unlimited texting. Woot woot!!!

LOL!!! True dat. I admit, Nextel service does suck sometimes...but I love my direct connect.

Well...I guess I was lucky. That was a tornado coming in...it hit sometime after I got out of there and did 85 million dollars worth of damage. A state of emergency has been declared and 1 person was killed. Suddenly my cracked windshield and non-working phone seems like a blessing.
