We both go, but lately he's been going more. He works less hours than I do, so he has the time. It doesn't bother me for the most part, but I do 99% of the cooking so I kinda want to do the shopping as well. Oh well....I shouldn't complain.

We spend way too much, there's only 2 of us (and Sam, our pup) and I bet we spend about $150 - $200 a week, on avg. Mind you, we eat very well. My biggest hobby is to cook and his is to eat, lol, so we experiment alot.

I shop for myself, and it's a hassle lol. This diet means my food is more expensive, and I go weekly.
It's hard to say how much I spend, but it's much more than I'd like. Maybe $25 a week for my vegetables and canned goods and if I buy chicken or protein bars it's like $45 that week.

I usually buy salad supplies, crab meat, tuna, beans to make soup, frozen vegetables, protein bars, chicken, sugar free pudding...
Most of the time I go to Meijer, because Walmart has the worst meat prices and even worse produce. Sometimes Kroger but I don't like the store, too busy looking lol.

I spend the most when I get some fucking hair brained idea for a recipe of some sort. I try not to buy things I don't need, and I rarely waste anything, but I envy HK's food bill lol.

Our Winn Dixie is my emergency store because generally their prices are ridiculous.

Really? Ours is priced pretty well. Then again, we have WD, Walmart, SweetBay & Publix all with 5 miles of each other. So they're all competitive.

As I said above, I have noticed Publix has dairy cheaper these days. I also paid .93 for a box of their vermicelli today. Better than WD. And NO ONE can beat their bakery!!!

I usually go to the grocery every 2 weeks. I range between $50-$100 depending on if I need extras like shampoo, facial cleanser, makeup, etc. I always make a list, but I don't do coupons. I'm usually in and out of the store in 20 minutes. :thumbup

I do the grocery shopping with my kids every time.
I spend about $50-$75 a week.
I don't call cleaning products etc groceries so those aren't included in my amounts.
My favorite part of grocery shopping is getting what I need and getting the "F" out of there without some POS running into me or pushing over me without saying excuse me! :)

Walmart is such a joke with produce. The WalMart near me always changes around the food aisles every five seconds.

I always do the grocery shopping. We don't have a set grocery shopping day and I am not sure how much we normally spend. I usually just go out and buy stuff when we need it. Most of our grocery shopping is done at Kroger or WalMart. I only go to Foodland (I really feel like with a name like that it should be more like a theme park) when I desperately need something. They are by far the closest grocery store but they are also crazy expensive.

We never buy meat in Walmart. About once a month we go to Sam's Club and spend about $150. I like their ground chuck, We generally buy bacon & chicken breasts in bulk there too.

Same here...never buy meat in Wal-mart. We buy our steaks, chicken tenders, bratwursts, lunchmeat, porkchops, turkey bacon, and turkey sausage all at Sam's. We do the majority of our shopping at Sam's, actually (bulk bread, huge bags of Splenda, seasonings, tortilla wraps, fresh fruit and veggies, etc). Usually spend about $300 there once a month. Then we spend another $100 or so picking up little things here and there at Kroger and Wal-mart (mostly Kroger, but some things are a little cheaper at Wal-mart).

Walmart is such a joke with produce. The WalMart near me always changes around the food aisles every five seconds.

OMG...glad to know it's not just MY Wal-mart, LOL There are these little baked sugar snap peas that they have at ONE of our Wal-marts (can never find them at the other 2) and they have literally been moved at least half a dozen times in the past year.

I agree, it's disgraceful. And they do. I cannot ever predict where the effing tomatoes will be, one week to the next.

Walmart here doesn't carry produce (yet), but some of the grocery stores here are like shopping in a 3rd world country, it's really difficult to find decent produce and when you do you pay dearly for it.

I need a garden.

I admit I'm completely spoiled by Meijer and Kroger. Their produce is always completely fresh looking, with the tendency to be under ripe, but of course it can get pretty outrageously priced.

Walmart seriously sells tomatoes with holes and fruit flies swarming around, or they charge $5 for a small container of pineapple.

I will say, Walmart's bagged salad is beyond compare. Very good and cheap.

I'm always sceptical of those bagged salads, I hardly ever buy them.

I've seen rotten veggies on shelves here, mouldy peppers...mushroom brown and slimy, and don't even get me started on avocados, which are my favourite.

And we live in a farming area, which is so sad...if it wasn't for farmers' markets I'm sure I'd have scurvy by now!

Sam's has a large container of mixed spring greens that they sell for about $4 that is awesome. We buy their bulk package of romaine hearts (6 in the bag) for $4.78 (I think that's right...the price just went up to that).

Who in your household takes care of the grub ? How mush do you spend ? Are you a budget family or just a free for all ? What is your favourite part of grocery day ? Ooh my the question. Fresh veggies. Cuts of meat. You name it, lets discuss it.
mostly the husband does the food shopping. i'd say about 25-90 each time. we free for all...which really we should budget but we haven't in years.
