Who in your household takes care of the grub ? How mush do you spend ? Are you a budget family or just a free for all ? What is your favourite part of grocery day ? Ooh my the question. Fresh veggies. Cuts of meat. You name it, lets discuss it.

My house is well structured. My wife literally gets off going grocery shopping. She makes a list and checks it more then Santa. She has a spread sheet. Coupons and flyers. I have only gone grocery shopping twice in the seven years together. She takes her time and really enjoys the time out of the house I spose. We spend 150 a week with all the meal pre planned. She could tell you what we are having for supper in two weeks from today most likely. I have no say in it other then getting afew things we are short on. We are trying to eat healthy as much as possible. She does an excellent job. Zero complaints.

I buy the essentials and then a couple of days later the missus buys all the crap she wants which ends up rotting away in the bottom of the fridge and getting chucked, lol!

How much do you spend?
I can comfortably do a weeks shopping for under 50 quid but the missus probably spends about twice as much.

Are you a budget family or just a free for all?
We just buy what we need and want and what we can afford so no budget really.

What is your favourite part of grocery day?
I hate shopping! Probably drinking the booze when I get home.

We both do. We add to a shopping list on the notice board then the stuff gets brought.

I am trying to stick to a budget which is why I list everything we need so we don't spend more than we have to.

I hate shopping. It bores me senseless at the best of times.

I do the shopping. Sometimes the man comes with me but he's an impulse buyer - if we have a list he won't stick to it, and I feel rushed shopping with him because he doesn't like supermarkets much so I know he's not enjoying it, whereas I quite like doing a slow shop.

At the moment I spend about £50 on a month of shopping. We don't tend to eat breakfast, I make us both sandwiches every day to take to work for lunch, and I do a mixture of cooking actual food and just putting a store-bought lasagna in the microwave - but we always have veg with that kind of thing as well.

How the hell do you manage that??? Do you live on beans on toast or something? :eek

I make a list on my iPhone, and then I go shopping. I'm not sure what I spend in a week because I tend to buy other shit at the store too (magazines, batteries, cleaning stuff, etc.) so I can't really give an accurate estimate. My favorite part of the shopping would probably be when I'm done, I hate shopping. I make shopping lists for everything because I have to strategically plan my shopping to get IN and get OUT as fast as possible. :p

It's a complex mess of equations in this house.

I do a grocery shopping run every two weeks.. I spend about 250... that also includes cleaning supplies, tp and most of the time the diapers cuz I earn air miles at Safeway...

My MIL goes once or twice a week as well..... she buys more of the meat I buy veggies and fruit..

Now my MIL's BF goes shopping for groceries as well and he buys the canned food and bread....

All in all 4 adults and a 2.5 year old live here.. no one eats the same things so there is always someone going to by something we have run out of..

And I know you are lost just trying to figure it out... Try living here..

Joe and I shop. I would live on cheese and turkey grilled sandwiches for dinner and frozen lunches so Joe is more the shopper. Now that is going to a regular store. When it comes to Costco-a warehouse member shopping store he has to drag me-I hate that stuff. We are two people do we really need 2 years worth of toilet paper at once? Plus we have no freezer, just the little one over our fridge so Buying Family size eggrolls is stupid!

I don't like grocery or clothes shopping. Except Beer and Betty Boop paraphanalia (sic) LOL As to what we spend I actually don't know, Joe handles the finances, sometimes he makes late payments which irritate me but I bite my tongue 'cause if I'm not willing to do them I have no say and I don't want to do them, I did all the cooking, finances, yard work, everything in the first marriage, all I have to do in this one is keep my stuff away and not bitch...I'm a lucky gal!!!

I have a budget for 150 a week i never go more.. (there is few times only if we have people coming over we go over) .. this include cleaning products and other stuff we need.. most of the time i go once to the supermarket and then get milk and bread when even i need it as i hate old bread and can not stand eating bread from the fridge... i dont drive so we both go... either he stay there and push the troley while i do all the shoppin...g or leave me there and i call him back when i finish .. the supermarket is 20 mins walk so with the car is nothing so he have planty of time to go home and stay there .. if am alone i spend a long time there lol i just check the other shops first before i do my shopping .. love the online shopping lso done this few times ..

To be fair, I buy things that people don't always want to - we did one shop where we tried EVERYTHING that was in the Tesco Value range, to work out what we could stand to eat haha :) the lasagna and the spaghetti bolognese are both yummy and are only 74p each so I stock up on those, stuff like the value pizza was rubbish so I allow a little extra for the next brand up.

Plus we've tried to be really good on not buying crap like crisps and sweets. Neither of us drinks so that cuts it down compared to other people. I buy stuff like value pasta and value pasta sauce because the difference really isn't that bad...

I shop weekly but I find myself at the grocery store through the week as well buying fresh fruit and veggies, milk etc. I'd say on average I spend about 150. - 200. a week on groceries, and that includes household supplies/dogfood/shampoo's etc etc. During the summer months I find I spend more because we have more company and we bbq a lot...not to mention those quick meals to go when there's no time to cook. In the winter, I prepare bigger meals ahead of time ( I love to cook )and that means leftovers....so in the long run it's cheaper and easier. I love to shop but not for groceries.....lol...the line-ups drive me crazy and I would probably pay somebody to put them away when I get home...lol...that's the worse part about getting groceries, my favorite part............I don't know...lol

We go together. Publix we buy their specials & meats & veggies sometimes. Walmart we buy most of our groceries but also includes everything from personal items to batteries & cleaning supplies. $100 to $150 a week most weeks. We never buy meat in Walmart. About once a month we go to Sam's Club and spend about $150. I like their ground chuck, We generally buy bacon & chicken breasts in bulk there too.

Who in your household takes care of the grub?

- That would be my mother, every now and then she'll send me to do it for her, but 9 out of 10 times she does it.

How mush do you spend?

- Usually £150, give or take. Thats for 3 of us, although I eat out most evenings anyway.

Are you a budget family or just a free for all?

- We tend to be a budget family, we'll do say a big shop at the start of the week, then try and budget throughout the rest of the month.

What is your favourite part of grocery day?

- There's not alot I enjoy about it :p I guess checking out the babes from isle-to-isle.

I do the shopping. I used to go every two weeks and stock up. But since going back to work, I go once a week and buy for the week ahead.

I generally spend around $150. Sometimes more depending on whether we need TP, paper towels, cat food, etc.

I never buy from Walmart. I do give Winn Dixie a lot of my money and Publix gets some too as they have better prices than WD on dairy.

Also, Winn Dixie has come out w/a new card that gives you money off per gallon of gas at Shell stations. Ah, YAY!!!!!! Every little bit helps!

I take care of the grocery shopping. If i left it up to the hubby, the bill would be doubled and he'd come back with my listed stuff AND junk! i make a weekly menu and make my list off of that. once a week is all i go. no budget, more of a free for all. i dont do coupons because i never find coupons for things i use/buy. I spend up to $150 a week, including household products, fresh fruits/veggies and meats. i dont look at prices when i go. i just grab what i know i need and thats that.

We do the shopping together, I love going to the supermarket (when its not packed).
We usually go once maybe twice a week and buy food for the rest of the week.
I think the cost normally ranges between 30€ - 70€. We don't really have a set budget but we don't go crazy and buy a whole lot of things we don't need
