I think that's going to look good, it's amazing what a difference changing just one aspect of a room can make 
A great decision.
I've had that color carpet before! It's almost impossible to match anything to! (Second only to the seafoam green one we had.)
Do we get to see after pics too? You going for light wood? Dark wood? (Which is beautiful, but I'd hate to dust it daily)

Light wood but not blond. That carpet was installed in this house when it was built in 1992. It has held up real well but time for a change.
I think a light wood is going to look great. Just be careful not to shuffle in socks lol.
