Hi,
I hopefully can use this thread for posting my personal questions about English grammar. I have several and up to now my professsors at German university are in vacation. My teacher last week told me, that I´m a certain level and on this level I should normally do not any error in my exam. How I can prove this? Mostly I have problems with continous forms and adverbs that relay on reported speech.
'I think we should meet soon.' She soon. ? The first sentence is in present tense. Why using past now?:tooth

I think we should meet soon. Soon, we shall meet. I thought yesterday we should have met. Yesterday I thought we would have met.

What is the difference between shall and should? I thought yesterday we should have met. Yesterday I thought we would have met. Why would instead should? Hmm...

Shall is a definite. Should is not as definite. shall = will. should = could.
I hope that helps.

In German it is very different. We use might ( es könnte) for almost everything.:D Can you give me an example for this? Therefore I am very interested in the fact what is the difference between Past Simple and Continous? Ok, I were/ was and all that stuff is clear... Thanks for everything:p
