I have no idea. It's probably not literally playing a game, so much as just looking at the games page. But then again, ask Tim and Lemon, I know nothing about this stuff.

He's right, they don't play the games. They systematically search through all the links on the forum. Sooner or later they come across the game section. So it will show up as though they are playing the games, but it's just because they are activly on that page/section

To be listed one needs a number from Google, which is no longer available. There are a few forums that I've searched for that are unique, and even with the keywords I've used I cannot find them. That started my little investigation, and that's where I discovered their so-called ranking system. The more I learnt the less I wanted anything to do with them, seems that if you start a forum now, too bad cause you[re never going to get onto their system, seems it's mostly paid for - makes sense as the results one finds are mostly all the same every time.
I'm horribly disappointed and cannot wait for WIKI to come up with their search engine they're working on in frustration about Google and the way they work.
Oh, having said that, my forum also has it's spider that crawls there every day, I have it's IP address - and it still cannot find my forum.
I give up.

That's not true, you do not have to pay to be listed on google. I can create a site tonight and have it listed on google within the week. It's all about SEO search engine optimization. Your site has to be optimized to be search engine friendly. PHP forums are not very search engine friendly out of the box so to say. You have to manipulate the site to allow certain spiders to find it and crawl through it. Your boards are on a free hosting site. You will never get the exposure there without a lot of help. There are a ton of sites that can help you get noticed, just type in SEO at any search engine and prepare yourself to do alot of reading.

the spiders only index the page. if you dont have seo, your pages are just added into the database of whoever's engine.

I see what you mean though, thanks for the advice. Although it seems unreal to have a search engine that does not see a site.
I can't wait for the to re-do the www. Not that I expect much change, but even if it's ranked right at the bottom, it would be nice to have a search engine that searches all sites (logistically impossible, I know) where one can find a site that's on the www. ;) (I can dream, OK, LOL)

Yeah, thats right. I've got the forum I run listed on all the major search engines for free by going to a site called addme or something.

Lemon, the free forums can't be listed through Google, and now I know why - you only edit the front-end, and cannot add to any back-end html to add any meta-tags and whatnot. Irritating, but that's why it's free I suppose, LOL!
