Much to much for what they are looking to do. How do I know? Well the budget tells me everything. ;)

Yeah, We aren't trying to be Pro's or even High Ranking Amateurs here. Just really looking to get decent quality for our quick snaps of our family, and for things we blog about (such as recipes)... and lets not forget the cleavage thread and other fun things ;)

I figured that. The one I suggested will allow you to shoot some movie shit as well but that's the case with most of 'em.

I just thought of something. You might already have a memory card from one of your other cameras. Check the specs. If that's the case you'll save some dough.

Sensor size isn't *everything* but it can still be useful in determining even your point and shoot choices. Ultimately though, even though I guess you want a pocket cam, go with what feels good to use and comfortable. Try them out too and take your sweet ass time about it as well (don't let any sales peeps rush you) so you can get a decent first impression of any candidates.

For the record, prior to my DSLR I had an Olympus Camedia C730 'Ultra Zoom' - it was only 3.2MP but I loved that little thing. It's pics weren't too shabby either.

We have two memory cards, not sure on the specs. I'll have Bryan figure that out. Camera purchase is getting out on standby, I'm getting my tattoo first!!:willy_nilly::ninja

I'll wear pleather when I go to buy it, they won't push me around then! I liked the Olympus we have, I thought it did great job.

Do you guys have any thoughts on the following?

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...mpus 7010&No=0&Nty=1&Ntx=mode matchallpartial

Or

http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/j/finepix_jx250/

The second one is a 14 MP versus the first one being a 12 MP and the package at costco for the second one comes with a 4 G mem card versus the 2 G on the first one.

More mega pixels does not often mean better pics. I wish I could recommend one or the other but not havng experience of either of those all I could do was search for specs and reviews. Both seem to have good and bad points and both have very similar 'user friendly' features such as focus tracking. The Fuji claims to have smile(lack of) and blink detection too.

Memory cards aren't that expensive yet having a bigger one off the bat can't be bad. My strongest advice would be to try each if you can, unless there's a take it back guarantee. Often here, you can take things back within 7-21 days and no quibbles. If there's such a thing wherever you buy from then it can only add peace of mind.

:homo:

The only time it really means something to the average user is when you decide to enlarge them but... that can be confusing as well. Why? It's pixels per inch when printing that's most important. EG: if you have 50 pixels per inch the pic won't look as good as if you had 350. Depending on the initial output of the shot a lot of that can be controlled with software. Summary... if you print any modern cameras shot at 4 x 6 or even 8 x 12 it's going to be as clear as the original shot and you won't notice the difference.

Opinions by the writers of reviews are like assholes. Everybody has one. That said, ever camera has it's good and bad points regardless of the cost and that includes " user friendly features". My take on that is most of it is meaningless to most people because they set it on automatic and let the camera figure it out. When I have a P & S in my hands that's exactly what I do.

Like my buddy siph I can't recommend either because I haven't actually used them. I have owned a Kodak for less than one day but I returned it due to the garbage it was. I'm sticking with Canon because they are a solid camera that gives great results. Others might not agree but...hey... that's my asshole.. I mean opinion.

Memory cards are cheap as borscht and if you get or don't get one that shouldn't be the deciding factor. What is more important... a nice clear sharp picture or lots of storage space? If you need more space buy another card.
