I wonder if they still make you take that survey if you apply in person? And perhaps they had a glitch in their system or something. I have had several friends who worked at WalMart and had a heck of time figuring out their schedules. There was a number they could call that would tell it to them, but it was wrong half the time.
Those survey things are always terrible, especially if they are really long. I hate it when they ask you a question one way and then ask it in another way that requires the opposite answer. They are so tedious to take it would be easy to make a mistake.
Anyway, I wish you luck in your job search. Finding one certainly isn't easy nowadays.

When you go to apply in person they have you sit at a computer and fill out the online application, I've tried before, the thing was 65 questions long.
When I applied for my first job, I failed the assessment the first time but passed it the second. The assessment was long too, took an hour to do.
Sucks man. And that is the most graphic smiley I have ever seen.
I intend to be employed by the time the 60 days is up, I don't foresee myself taking this test again.

Sometimes they'll ask " Do you lie?", knowing full well that people are going to answer "No", just because people think that's what they want to hear.
It's fairly obvious at least to me that they don't want someone to say that they NEVER lie, that is an obvious trick question, the questions on this stupid test weren't like that lol
Of course they want cashiers to lie because "The customer is always right" nag nag nag lol. The customer is rarely right. Most of them just can't read a fucking tag with product details on it lol.

web designing & coding, SEO, SMM and other web promotion. Quite looking forward to getting stuck in, they've got some really interesting projects coming up over the next couple of months
That's cool, and actually something I've taken classes in, maybe I should look into that myself.
It's probably a good thing I work in the family business. I wouldnt be able to get a job as a Wallyworld greeter. I would be the meanest short person ever. Id tell them to get their own f@cking cart.

Yeah you should. You can learn it all yourself online you know, there's so much info out there. If you want any pointers, or recommendations of good sites I can point you in the right direction

it depends how proficient you want to be at it. Anyone can build a site using something like Dreamweaver and a bit of time to practice.
You become more valuable if you can code by hand, HTML & CSS, and add things like PHP & MySQL to the pot too.
The best thing to do is just look at how others are doing it, that's the nice thing about the web, you can view the source code for sites to get an idea of how they were put together.

Yeah I can code by hand, lol dreamweaver is fun but a trained monkey could use it, I've done a lot of html, I would just need to brush up on everything.
if you can code, awesome.
Brush up on it, and look into the principles of graphic design to help with layout structuring, typography etc etc and you're all set!
what you could do is offer a couple of local business a free or discounted website to get things moving
