No one has been stoned to death for adultery in my part of the world....and there is hardly any case in point
where an adulterous is stoned to death in compliance with the tenets of Quran which requires 4 respectable
witnesses who actually saw the fucking scene being done. At least such evidence is out of question in an Islamic world because Islam condemns lechery and debauchery including 'exhibitionism' in any manner.
I have heard about a few women being stoned in some Muslim countries such as Iran or Egypt etc but that is related more to their culture and societal issues rather than Islam.
Islam gives plain acquittal from sin to adulterous if they repent and ask Allah's repentance. Moreover, Quran also augurs good reward to such women who are forced by men to indulge in lechery or prostitution.

Why only punish women for adultery? Surely it must be men that are committing adultery, if you require 4 reputable witnesses, surely the man in question with the alleged adultery has also committed the same offence

lays such severe condition that is normally hard to fulfill... same is the case with fornication.
Justice for all is the fundamental message of Islam. If you do not find it it is NOT Islams fault but deviation from the Islamic tenets by its selfish adherents whom the Quran expressly addresses as hypocrites!

I recall the vandalism committed by the Americans when lights suddenly went off in Los angeles(not sure about the city) many years ago and people went looting shops and damaging public property as if they had just been relieved from some paradise of lawlessness!! More examples can be cited but I rest my point here.

FYG India and Pakistan are different countries. India is a Hindu majority secular state, the biggest democracy in the world.

Really? Is that why you hear it on the news? I have never heard such accusations being thrown at men, just women
I agree that it isn't religion's fault that men aren't punished for adultery the way that women are, but it is obvious that if the women has been committing adultery, so must the men
Both men and women are equally responsible for the crime, any crime but despite equal human rights the world
seems to highlight and scream more when it comes to women. Perhaps, women's frailty all over the world still don't seem to let them believe that they have rights equal to men!
Note: In a feudal and poor country men do take advantage of the lack of rule of law eventhough the law is same for both genders for the same crime...but the media only highlights women. I think men like to use (or misuse) women for all sorts of advertising, good or bad
