i guess there really is no right answer for this..but people in general who have a hard time finding someone to 'hook up' with want their friends to help because maybe their friend could find someone it could actually work out with. someone they would be compatible with.
also sometimes its easier because your friends will know someone who is single and perhaps looking and that way you don't have to find someone yourself. it can be hard. lol
