Gas Tips?

You don't have to, but it is wise. Dirtbike and ATV motors are pretty sensitive. When you run then on premium it is better for it, just like with any vehicle. It will prolong the life of the engine, the parts, and run better. Its reccomended that people use premium, but you don't absolutely have to.

Duh they do! 4 wheelers take REGULAR gas. I asked if gas stations sold Weed Eater gas. Gosh, read my original post.

all you have to do i go fill up a gas can and then get some 2 cycle oil and use the recomended amount of 2 cycle oil for that size can and put that in your gas can and mix it around and your all set to put it in your weed eater. some stations do sell 2 cycle oil this time of year or you can go to your local hardware store, lowes, home depot or even walmart to find the oil you need.

This is a common misconception when it comes to gas. The higher the octane, the more additives to make the gas burn slower. This prevents preignition in high compression engines. Look in your owners manual, if it says to use 87 octane like a Mustang GT, then you will only waiste your money putting higher octane in your tank. Higher octane fuel does not burn cleaner and it does not prolong engine life. This is only true if you are running stock of course. If you turbo or s/c your engine, then you will need to burn higher octane fuel to get a more complete burn with a slower burning fuel.

Really? I had been lead to believe that premium was "cleaner" and better on a cars motor. Well I know it applies to dirtbikes and ATVs because their engines are so sensitive to everything, especially 2 strokes. Your supposed to replace the top end on a 2 stroke almost yearly, thats how fast they wear out. The pistons and such. Don't take care of them and they will seize up on you. I know a guy who runs a methenol mixture with his Banshee and it's hella fast, but he takes great care of it and doesn't run regular 87 through it, ever. It is highly reccomended to use high octane for offroad vehicles.

So running premium in a vehicle that normally runs on regular has absolutely no effect at all?

nope. its just a waste of money. it wont do anything to help with performance. now unless you run FI and bump up the timing and someother things you got to run an higher octane. but with the gas prices the way they are you may see people putting regualr in there MB, BMW, lexus and other vehichles that require premium gas. and thats stupid.

Yep only put the good stuff if ya need it, my jeep needs it, and it gets horrible gas mileage (bad combo) so thats a burning hole in my pocket... I needa but a asian car thatcan take the junk and run forever on like 10 bucks of gas lol

Eh yea... but i am looking into auctally getting one, whats anyone know about 2ed Gen eclipses? of cource ied either go for a GS-T or a GSX (preferbly GSX)

Any goods or bads on that car anyone? relibility?

Gs-t and GSX both have the same turboed engines, but the GS-T are FWD and the GSX are AWD so you can launch likje a bat outta hell lol
