Many have tried and failed to bring a successful game to the big screen. Streetfighter with van damme and kylie minogue? :24:

They are improving thanks to modern special effects, but still not as good as they should be. Hitman, Doom, while not classics they are certainly watchable. What are your best / worst conversions?

I'm one who actually likes Street Fighter, especially the scene where Dhalsim is being watched and later assaulted by a fat guard for tampering with Blanka's cerebral programming. "Nothing, eh." *pushes Dhalsim to the side*

Mortal Kombat is a good game-to-movie conversion, especially the fight scenes between Liu Kang-Sub-Zero, Cage-Scorpion, and Liu Kang-Reptile. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is likewise good, despite the poor ratings.

There are however, more failed game-to-movie conversions than successful ones, such as Wing Commander, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and Double Dragon. These franchises, while successful in video games, have flopped in the box-office.

I kinda liked the Far Cry movie, but it obviously wasn't the best movie in the world. That's the only game-to-movie conversion I've seen though.

Oooh, the cheesy Street Fighter movie? It was a bad movie that I loved. I watched it when I was still too young to watch porn so I liked it. And, this Street Fighter movie is a special case. It was based on a game which was of course entitled Street Fighter:

And then they made this bad good movie:

And then they made a game out of the movie:

They made a game based on a movie that was based on a game! Lol. :D

I don't mean to sound rude, but we have seen countless movie adaptations of video games that didn't turn out well. Tekken, Street Fighter (I know most of you liked the movie, but honestly I felt it could have been better), Dead or Alive, Resident Evil (only the first film was good), Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider (the only saving grace is Angelina Jolie playing the part of Lara Croft), Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy (Spirits Within was an absolute garbage while Advent Children was mediocre at best), Silent Hill, etc. I can go on and on and all I can think about is how messed up it would be for a game to be turned into a Hollywood film. So all I can say is
