It's official: The drone war has come home to America. Wanted fugitive Christopher Dorner, the homicidal former cop currently at war with the LAPD, has become the first known human target for airborne drones on U.S. soil. Their use was confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed the government's fear that Dorner will make a dash for the Mexican border. The fugitive has already killed three people, according to police, and has a $1 million bounty on his head. Dorner, who has military training, is believed to be hiding in the wilderness of California's San Bernardino Mountains, where locating him without air support may be all but impossible. [Source]

well aint that dandy

nothing like expanding what the govt can do to get what it wants

screw hand gun restrictions. I want them relaxed so we can buy RPG's to take down these drones on US soil.

I find it hard to believe this would actually be approved and if so then there is some serious issues with our govt beyond what the conspiracy theory people are worried about. It would be illegal because the military would be utilized which is not allowed on our soil. No way the feds are going to hand over a drone to the friendly neighborhood sherriff.

On the flip side though it would be a sure fire way to control the borders. Just have drones flying over the border and take out anybody attempting to illegally cross.

I don't believe it. I'm calling bullshit.

The government would not use a drone to kill a civilian on US territory accused of a crime not related to national security.

Kind of interesting this reporting is from England.

I agree. Unless they are unarmed and only used for surveilence

According to one link I looked at they said all the reports come from one source

Unless this is true it is another clear example of incompetent reporting

Hell, they do that on a regular basis now lol

This guy is a civilian who apparently broke the law. Fact is, he hasn't been convicted of ANYthing yet. So...the government is just going to use a drone to kill a civilian on US territory accused of murder? Hell, take half the city of Chicago and DC if you're going to go that route.

So in none of the articles could I see ( correct me if I am wrong ) where these drones are said to be armed with weapons..

But they have been in use at the borders for a while now. Do they watch illegals only, you tell me..

This is not news to us so why are you surprised they are using them ?

The friend I shared this article from had a comment on his feed that said

"it doesn't say he's a target to be killed only the drones are being used to find him, now as much as I disagree with the 2nd amendment being affected so adversely, the drones being used on American soil to find murderous psychopaths isn't so bad until they decide to overstep their bounds and use it for other matters."

" Drones are smaller and more maneuverable than helicopters in the areas he's in. less fuel, Less danger to humans (as he's a highly trained sniper and survivalist) however we will see how this plays out"

Does not surprise me them using them on border patrol

But the Posse Comitatus Act makes that a no no on US soil if the Military is involved. IMO

They want this guy dead for reasons we may never know. And there are already drones in use by various LE agencies in this country and more being built as fast as they can make them.

Bullshit again. He would not be the first human "target" as in to verify his location on US soil by utilizing a drone. As mentioned, the government has been doing this for some time.

If you watch the Video, you can see they can pick you off 20,000 feet away ( those were old ones ).

The drones also don't involve the military..

They involve Borders and Customs in this case.. So both your "Posse Comitatus Act" and the "Insurrection Act" would not be in violation. If I am not misunderstanding these two acts..

Who believes we the US is a police state, and who thinks we're merely close to it?

I think that if we weren't so fucking docile we'd find out just how much of a police state we are under.

I am quite happy to go along with the theory that as long as I choose not to be a criminal, any form of police surveillance is either irrelevant or to my advantage.

That said, when Dubbya was fronting the show, America committed some pretty nasty crimes in the name of anti-terrorism. If only there was an amendment or something that the decent citizens could have used to rein his cronies in...........
