Ever thought about being a mall cop? If there is one nearby. Those are not great paying but around here they have positions available a bit.

lol I'm not that far from Ohio, what sort of business do you run?
If you are not choosy about a job, and would take anything at all so you can afford to eat and pay bills, I would suggest trying a restaurant.. as a dishwasher..
When my husband and I arrived in the US with a green card, our first jobs were as dishwashers.. That was in 1969.. a lifetime ago.. and many restaurants didn't have machines, btw... now it's easier with them..
It is hard work, but many restaurants will let you eat for free ... That way, yo save some money on food and have some extra for bills..![]()
On some, you can graduate from washing dishes to washing pots.. and the next step is helping with food preparation.. Maybe you'll find your next career as a cook somewhere..![]()
do you have a resume?
How old are you?
Those are the type of jobs I've been applying at, none of them have gave me an interview![]()
Jeezz.. that is so ridiculous!!
Where do you live?..
It's been a long time since I've worked, or hired anyone, but I never made it a requirement to give someone a job as a dishwasher, waiter or waitress!..
If we needed one, we would hire them and let them try for a few days..![]()
You are way up there!.. I had to look it up, because I never heard of it..
I lived in NYC for 25 years and we had a restaurant near Mohegan lake, about an hour away from the city.. so my knowledge goes only that far..
It looks like it's a small place.. is there any possibility that you could move near the closest big city from there?..
We live in a small town in NJ now, and there is nothing around here for anyone looking for a job, and I think it's the same way all over..
Hang in there and don't loose hope.. something will turn out..
You know what? This system wins. I like it. So much less of a hassle for everyone involved.Admittedly, I'm wondering that all this "reference stuff" works by contacting other people by phone. Here, in Germany, you get a reference letter from every employer you've ever been working for. Whenever applying for a job you attach copies of all of these reference letters.
I really wonder why over there it is handled in such a complicated way (which doesn't seem to work well).
