It sounds like this think is dying or in fear for it's life up there
Whenever my neighbour's dogs bark I bang on the fence until the little shit runs to the other side of yard (still barking) but ends up shutting up. I HATE dogs that constantly bark and bark and bark, they're so stupid.

Our little dog will start barking downstairs and keep going and going and going and going. Everyone else acts like they can't hear it, but it drives me fucking bananas. It really makes me mad. There are some things an animal can do to put me to 100% want to fucking kill with fire mode. I finally end up storming downstairs to make her shut up. There is NEVER anything out there either. I could understand if there was a racoon out there or maybe a meter guy, but there is fucking nothing. I want to pull her flesh off for that shit.
Poor thing might have separation anxiety 
Our last apartment upstairs neighbor had a lapdog. When it would run up and down the hall sounded like they had a horse up there.
It hasn't made any noise in quite some time, finally got a hold of the landlord after trying for weeks, my stepmom is on the phone with him now giving our notice and telling him about all the problems with the neighbor.
Call the Humane Society. Report animal abuse, and you can do it anonymously. Tell them that the owner leaves the dog inside all day and night, you never see her take the dog out, the dog is always barking, sounds like he's in pain, etc, etc. I had the same problem with one of my neighbors and we couldn't sleep for a month because of it. They kept their rottweilers locked up in a cage in their backyard to breed. We called and they took care of the problem. If the Humane Society doesn't get out there to take care of it, call the police. They have animal rescue units in most places. You don't deserve it, neither does the dog.
It sounds like you got yourself a slumlord. Document everything. You don't need to settle for that shit. We didn't. We moved out of slumlord land, broke the lease, and didn't pay a dime after our last month staying there.
Just gave him notice, we're out of here on the 1st.
Oh, looks like you did solve the landlord issue. I can't stand slumlords. I hope for the worst of luck for him finding a new tenant.:thumbdown
He's trying to tell us the only way he gives our security deposit back is if we find him a new tenant.
Tell him no problem..you will run an add in the paper for him

If you call the cops or something you will have documentation..then can take the landlord to court to get back your money ..as you can show you had a legitimate reason to break the lease
My dad is renting the apartment, not me. Anything to do with getting deposit back or anything else has nothing to do with me really, that's up to my dad what he wants to do about that. Honestly I don't know if the landlord even knows I live here.
Yeah, tell him you're not his employee...and I'd add a "go fuck yourself". It couldn't hurt, unless you're still trying to get that deposit back.
I don't give a fuck about the deposit since I didn't pay it lol, that's my dad's problem to deal with if he wants it back that badly.
Get a copy of the lease. If it doesn't mention new tenant = security deposit, he has NO shot in hell of using that approach.
