Frustration

I have been just a victim of a dirty politics game played in my office ... tat too unknowingly ... Whom I trusted so much I am afraid but one of them betrayed me ... I am currently on a project which had a build due today and approximately 2 months ago I had a discussion with my colleagues regarding a BUG which needed to be solved right away .. and in the same forum I gave an idea which I thought wud work with affirmative results ... in my mind I thought that this may bring a good boost to my career in 2007 ... When I discussed abt the BUG with my colleagues 1 fellow opposed my idea and somehow proved me that I was wrong .. but I confirmed him that I will return on the same topic with correct output and so did I ... on 16th Jan again we had a discussion and there I raised my point again .. I was sure that this guy will oppose me but he didn't ... I was surprised but neglected this feeling thinking alas I succeded .... But " WHAT THE FUCK " was that ... today I had a meeting with other Software Developers and without informing me my idea was utilised and I don't know who the " FUCK " took away the credit ... because when I went thru the " Known Issues Report " I realised that I was cheated .... I am so disturbed that I returned home after that meeting ... usually whenever I am tired / angry or frustrated I listen to music or just spend some time alone ... But this Frustration is really eating me I cant do anything I am very disturbed never been so much angry before ... I thought to bring this topic here may be some of you can help me out ... Guys can you please tell me how you react when you feel or think u have lost something which belonged to you or when u realise you were cheated ?????????

I would say crush a lightbulb in his lunch and stir, but thats just the anger speaking.Nah, its gotta be slick. You gotta gettem how they got you. Find out who did it. Then let them know that you know. Don't be rude. Don't be disrespectful. Just politely let them know. Let them chew on that for a while. Then find a way to discredit them at the job. By all means. Take away the credit they took from you. Then he will be back on your level. Then rise above him with another good idea.(You sound like a smart dude. I dont think you gotta problem doin that.) Then fire him. Now! Oh yes! Now! He can no longer hurt your career. Now, you find him at Fosta Pasta on your lunch break and beat the unholy shit outa him. The whole time screaming,"YOU LIKE THAT BITCH?! YOU WANT SOME MORE?!" Over and over again. You'll feel like a new man. : )

Oh! And wear running shoes. Something that breaths too. 100% cotton T. Cause you might have to run from some five O. ; )

That's bad Sam.

I have had the same thing happen to me, but not in work.

The ppl who counted at the time, knew the idea was mine and just laughed at the slob who took the credit.

I hope you get recognized for what you suggested in the first place.

As a tip for the future - type your ideas out on your computer at home first and copyright it, then show to management, then mention to others, but don't let on you have shown management - then, if they try taking the credit again, won't they look so stupid when they go bragging as if it was their idea?

Take care. :)

I don't think doing what he did to you would make any lasting change, except make you feel like the dirt he is. Let him know you know, and then let everyone else know, and let it go. Karma's a round wheel, it'll crush him before too long. But you're smart enough to come up with more good idead, just channell them right this time. Leave a 'paper trail' ie email someone with the idea etc, so that there's proof. ;)
