Frustrating GBH

Normally I can't get very close to these guys but today was a different story. It was quite windy and cold on the flats and regardless of all the yelling and arm waving I did he held his ground on the other side of the ditch. I have been trying for years to get a nice shot of one in flight but today it just didn't happen so I settled for these.

Don't throw it at the reeds and critter. Toss it up in the air so if it should still be hot enough coming down... it'll end up in the road.

Zirc they always fly away except for yesterday. The one time in my live long life that I was close enough to get a nice in-flight shot and she wouldn't budge.

I would try Fifi's idea but the last time I messed with firecrackers I almost blowed my hand off with a blockbuster so that's out. Maybe I should get me one of those portable air horns with the can attached?
