Well, I can't say that I'm really alone. I'm just looking for things that aren't there anymore. I had to put my favorite cat down 2 days ago, and i'm still looking for him. I'm still crying. I looked for him again this morning without even realizing that he's gone. And I did the same thing when I went to the bathroom b/c he always use to follow me in there. I have another cat, but it's not the same. This one won't let me hold him and he won't stay with me and sit with me for hours like the other one did. But he is a lovable cat. For those of you pet lovers you can understand how i'm feeling b/c your pets are like your children. And my little boy was so young. He was almost 5. A part of me thinks that I made the wrong decision in putting him down.

If your cat was in pain, then you made the right decision in putting him down. Why dont you go buy a kitty that looks like him and name him the same.. That may make it alittle easier.

I am sorry that you are going through this. I know it will get better. One of my cat got hit by a car when I was younger- I found her body.. It was horrible. :(

I will keep you in my thoughts.

It is hard. I had lost my dog that I had since I was 15 a few yrs ago. I was the only one she slept with, etc.
I cried all day. I almost took a breavement day from work cause it tore me up so bad. I want another inside dog really bad but Im too afraid to get attached again. But my brother made a good point. He said think about all the joy that she brought into your life while she was alive. never thought of it that way before.

oh guess im so sorry. I know how horrid it feels to wonder about if you did the right thing with a pet. Trust yourself though...if it was in pain it had to be done. I know what you are going through cause in a few days my cat will be put down too...its hard to let go of any family member.. I also can only imagine how hard this is right now. with hormones going slightly bonkers everything can make you sad. *hugs* you are in my thoughts

awww alicia, thats a really hard thing to do! i put my cat to sleep over this past summer... (ps- im allergic to cats, and took this one from one of the kids i work for because they couldnt care for it properly. i had the cat for about a year, and i have never been a cat person)

it was seriously heart wrenching to do, but he was in alot of pain (bladder problems, and UT issues) even though its a horrible thing to experience, they are better off :)

and believe me, my pets ARE my children.. and they are treated as such, so i know what you mean!

Sorry to hear the bad news. Putting an animal down is hard, but sometimes it is best for them. Just think the cat isn't suffering anymore. You could get another one like it was suggested. That is when you are ready to. Good luck.

Sorry about your Cat Alicia, Losing a pet is a horrid experiance, and it is just as devastating as losing a person.

I lost one of my cats to a horrible accident a couple years ago, there are still times I will walk through the house and Could swear I saw him out of the corner of my eye.. even though I know he is not there.. but sometimes I feel like he is.. or at least like he should be..

*hugz* my thoughts are with you.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate everyone's thoughts for me.

As for getting another cat, I don't know what will happen. I might? But obviously not tomorrow. And I don't think that I could get one that looks exactly like the one I had.

Jersey- most of the problems that your cat had is basically what mine was going through.

Kat- I know exactly how you're feeling and how you will feel, just make sure that you're really prepared for it...although there isn't much preparing that you can do.

sorry to hear about that.. i lost my baby last year, he was my gorgeous german shepherd. i was at work one day.. its was weird.. my boss brought in his little dog at work (and he never ever brings his dog to work) listen to this.. its way to weird.. we had to look after his dog, and i was just telling my boss about my dog.. and then a few hours later.. my brother called me and told me that my baby died, my parents came home and saw his body laying there :-( i was at work, and couldnt help myself but cried in front of my boss, he just hugged me.. my bf had to come and get me from work, i was shocked and sad.. i was shaking, i didnt know what to do.. i was so devestated.. we had him over 10 years.. i guess he died of old age.. i really miss him, he is so adorable..

i really don't like it when its time for them to go.. its like having your own baby.. they have their own personality, and they like to be loved and adored.. they like to sleep.. and fart, eat.. lthey are so adorable.. it hurts so bad when they go.. replacement wont help, its not the same..
