I don't really see the point of it, even if it was to lose weight. Your weight will probably yo-yo and there would be some side-effects. And who the hell wants to take tablets every day, that's the shit way to get vitamins. Eating is so much more satisfying, it's a basic human drive for god's sake.

there's also little, if any, scientific evidence that suggest vitamin tablets actually work. There's the possibility of new legislation coming through in the EU shortly that might make vitamin providers remove any health claims on their packaging.

I don't get it either. So people want to eat fruit, what has it got to do with anyone? Are they forcing you to follow their diet? No. Then why have a go at them for not following your diet?

I have a friend who is Vegan, perfectly healthy and all she ever gets is people having a go at her. She doesn't make a big deal out of her diet, doesn't force anyone else to eat Vegan food, doesn't keep talking about it yet people feel the need to continually tell her she needs to eat this or she needs to eat that or she is unhealthy.

More power to Vegans and Fruitarians if they can stick to the diet they want, when people are continually having a go at them for their choice of food!

I don't know why people get so offended. It must hit a nerve. It's impossible to have a legit discussion here lately.

i have no problem with people who follow that diet, and while it's not something I would like to do, I don't look down on a person for doing it.

I can understand why they would, I think that people eat too much meat as it is. We kill so many animals and yet a large portion of the meat is just thrown away.

well I dont think Id go that far, thats kinda harsh
Its unhealthy....What parents do often times children follow,or even worse children are made to follow this diet.

Couple the fact that it is unhealthy health problems arise from such often to be picked up by the tax dollar or people to weak to carry their own weight at the job.
Unhealthy actions are unhealthy for society.
Harsh...not really- just truthful...its an idiot diet followed by idiots ;)

its really an opinionated topic and a sensitive one for some i suppose because there is not an extensive research out there to support whether or not a specific diet is considered healthy or not... even though there are some articles out there suggesting otherwise... most of those have much too small sample sizes or are controversial. Just putting that out there :D

I suppose the human body is pretty adaptable when it comes to dietary choices. I would guess that a diet of fruit is much healthier than a diet of pre-packaged foods from a supermarket... but still, variety is the key I'd say. Doctors always recommend a varied diet, a good mix of meat, vegetables and fruit.

I wouldn't think an all fruit diet would be THAT good for you. I mean, sure, fruits are good for you...but they're also chock full of sugar (most of them, at least...cherries are the lowest on the glycemic index).

Really? I would expect cherries to be the highest, and something like bananas to be super low.

PLUS I was told eating too much fruit wasn't good for your body. Becausde I was on an apple kick when I first started dieting. ate like 4 or 5 a day.

I suppose it's okay that they get a lot of carbs, but too much of the same type.
I suppose it's worse to have a carb-free diet, I heard those things make your blood acidic and make you put weight back on if you resume a normal diet afterwards (well particularly if your carb-free diet is very protein-based).

Nope. Pineapple is one of the highest, actually, but that one didn't surprise me. Cherries and grapefruit are some of the lowest. The number listed is their value on the glycemic index.
