Thanks!

Now, does anyone know what happened to the native indians who helped the pilgrims? Just find it ironic sometimes how some facts in history are long forgotten.

Not sure but I know Thanksgiving in Canada is earlier for part of this reason.. If you read the history you should know the first Thanksgiving was held Mid October, not November.. It was also kept that way because our crops typically come in sooner..

Anyway Joe, if you are referring to the slaughter of Native Indian in North America, this goes much deeper.

I am not sure if it relates to Thanksgiving but I do know Native Indians where blamed for everything under the sun when things went wrong.. Some believe ( some argue contrary ) white man gave blankets with smallpox / chicken pox in them to just plain old killing them off as well as so many other diseases..

That being said Canada has a higher per capita of Natives than the US because we did not go as far as the south did..

Look at the demographics and you will see the numbers.. Canada has a population of 35 million people compared to the US at close to today's 350 Million ?

Thanks, and we're going to have a really good dinner today.

I spent part of my childhood years on Cape Cod, and the pilgrims were definitely a part of the state history. The only reason for my comment about the native indian was not to forget about what happened to that culture in particular. Have to remember, the indians didn't have a "God" even as the pilgrims understood back then, and in a sad way, we took advantage of their help. Can't do anything about it now other than to remember.
