I miss the halcyon days of William-Renault. If only Williams was a consistent force again - them along with the usual suspects from this year would make next year very interesting...

I thought it got quite boring when Williams was dominating, got to say this is the most open and competitive season for years.:thumbup

A fair point Peter :)

I guess I'm just a Williams fanboi hoping they'll do good again - amongst other teams doing well of course. Would make for an even more competitive season than this year.

Quali chaos, an injured Glock and a starting grid scrambled by penalties. It will be an interesting race tonight! Look for Vettel and Hamilton to dominate. The Brawn drivers shot themselves in the foot by ignoring the yellow flag. They are both experienced enough to have known better. :thumbdown

Race is 11:00 PM start here. I am GMT -7hrs. I find it interesting that, because there hasn't been a race at Suzuka for a few years, and there is no testing between races, there are several of the newer drivers that have never driven the track before this weekend.

Button and Barrichello didn't help themself getting demoted on the grid but what were they thinking zooming through on a yellow flag?
Anyway, 4 hours till coverage starts, come on Button and Hamilton!

Yeah, when I saw Barrechello blow by the yellow flag I immediately thought "Penalty!". :wtf:

It's good to see Suzuka back on the calendar. The second best track after Spa (don't worry Pete. Silverstone is a very very close third~! )

It looks like Vettel has made Brawn wait another race for one or both championships. They need only half a point to claim the constructor's but the driver's is less sure. It will make the race in Brazil all the more interesting in a fortnight.

Silly season news: it looks like Kubica is heading to Renault.

Button will finish the job.:thumbup
I bloody well hope so! After such a cracking start to the season he sure has fizzled in the last few months. When I heard Ross Brawn had taken over the remnants of the Honda team I wished them the very best and they haven't failed yet. Constructor's championship for a team that almost didn't exist is a fairy tale come true. Now they have to wrap up the driver's title to make it real. Having said as much, I give full kudos to Red Bull and Vettel. Both those little teams have proven to be giant killers. Where have Ferrari and McLaren been all year?

I'm pleased to see that the FIA inspected the new USF1 facilities and were "impressed". It will be great to see an American team competing in F1, and I hope it will stimulate the renewal of a US Grandprix. Having Canada and the states back on the calendar would be fantastic! It would be great to have real fans watching a race, not the empty grand stands like those of China and Turkey. Now Bernie wants a race in India and Korea??? WTF do those countires know about F1? Sheesh!

BOOOOOOOO you guys! I love F1 and I am american. If anything I don't like seeing just one dominant team so I am happy Button is fizzlling.

:thumbup Sorry, I didn't mean all Americans, I apologise. And I agree with you about not seeing one dominant team, I prefer the competition too. That said, as an unbiased ;) Brit, I still hope Button finishes the job.
