Why would you aim your product towards like 30 % of the population ? That is just the way society is. Does not mean it is right. If I told you that you could sell 5 million more pairs of jeans if you use a well kept man in your advertisement would you ?

Actually, the percentage is way higher than 30% for who is overweight in the US. We are gluttonous nation!

Regardless if people want to admit it or not, and perhaps it is just from training, beautiful people is what we want to see on TV/movies/advertising. This goes back to human DNA and survival. Obviously, this doesn't make it right but it is what it is.

See, here's the thing though. Weight is one of those things that we can control (unless of course, you have some sort of health issue). I don't care what excuses people want to make for their weight (Lord knows I have given plenty of them), the individual is responsible for what they feed their body, not society. If you don't like being called curvy, or fat, or BBW or a fat ass, or whatever creative names people have come up with, then do something about it. Its on you.

Otherwise, be comfortable for who you are and in your own skin. If you love yourself, someone else will love you too.
