Yeah in Newcastle you have to drink 5 pints of Newcastle Brown Ale in 1 minute 30 seconds or you ain't signing.

:24:

Not to sure what to think about this news... As I know nothing of the player.
Liverpool Still need 2 more good signings if we want the Top 4 spot.

I think we are strong in attack, but it is one in the midfield and one in defence, with a proper back up goalie

Pretty much... And hoping players like Johnson Gerrard Suarez Carroll Meireles stay fit...
Got a good chance without no European football... Arsenal have to play us in between their qualifying tie on the 2nd game of the season... To our advantage

These two players I don't rate at all

:eek Okay then........

Glen Johnson is without doubt the best Right back in the premiership... But needs a real good
centre-half next to him to allow him to do what he does best... Attack.

Meireles is a very good player... Not world class but good enough to get in most teams...
Inter milan are trying to sign him... whilst we go after adam :(

There's better RB's than Johnson, mostly because they are decent defenders and I don't fully rate him in that position. More as a wing back if you will he'd be more effective because he's a better attacker than he is defender. Liverpool did play 3-5-2 in the latter part of the season and it worked so who knows, that could be the way.

Meireles may of had a good season when Dalglish came in, but rapidly faded towards the end, Johnson is was making mistakes as well

It works if you have a masherano m'villa type of player in the middle but we don't...
Theres no seeing past Glen Johnson being the best right-back technically in the league.
As long as your centre-halfs are top draw you can afford to have an attacking fullback.

People keep saying Glen should play on the wing well the Liverpool fans I know but...
Attacking full backs enjoy having acres of space in front of them when they receive the ball, instead of immediately being one-on-one with the full back. There is a huge difference, and it allows full backs to play in a completely different style to wingers. Players like Johnson Ashley Cole and Daniel Alves are most effective when their wingers tuck inside and occupy the fullback, leaving great space to attack and take advantage of. This also requires a pacy Dm to be able to cover them, much like Mascherano did here.

This is completely different from traditional wing play, yet many Liverpool fans still call for Johnson to occupy the RW position despite no previous experience of playing in that position, and only having Carragher as a senior alternative at RB.

It seems a bit mental really, for me we will be a much better team with GJ at right back. Improve other positions...
Carragher's a better defender and people want to see him right back because of this... smh

I wish he did play on the wing, because it seems to suit him better with his attacking profile he has, but it seems Downing is looking likely to take that place on the right, but Kyut likes that place

This is the method we use in court, on deciding whether children should live, and on who you can marry...

Oh as a Newcastle fan, I'm pretty happy about it... still need a decent striker a 2 defenders...

Going by some Arsenal fans on Twitter, they seem displeased with the possible signing considering his somewhat acrimonious past. While he's not the nicest guy in the world allegedly he'd be far better than Song/Denilson in the centre.
