Even given the option I often choose the HD goodness at home. Not a fan of freezing, being overheated or rained upon. Not a fan of rubbing up against strangers in seats that are not wide enough. Really don't look forward to lines for the restroom or $5 soft drinks & overpriced food. Give me the comfort of my home and football games and I am happy.

I like Pro ball, I LOVE COLLEGE BALL!

True Southerner, Fred. ;) My yankee friends think it's hilarious that we care more about College and High School ball down here than we do about Pro. I don't know...I just prefer seeing people play who are still doing it for the love of the game. ;)

I cannot agree more. The love of the game vs. the paycheck.

Professional American football is not for all,but something about it is rather addictive. My dad was a pop Warner football coach as long as I could remember and he played in high school too.

We did enjoy it! Very fast paced and lots of ways to score. And there was a lot of scoring! Had a great time.

Speaking of State of Origin - my cousin took us to the SO Rugby at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. I liked Australian Rules Football better than rugby though.

And what I liked the most was the fans. The ref makes a bad call and the whole stadium chants BULL -SHIT!! in unison, lol! That was fucking great!!! And the train ride filled with alcohol fortified Aussies after the SO game was entertaining as well.

Can't wait to do it again.

The S of O is the "bees knees" of League games, even more popular than the Grand Final, and to get a ticket is usually impossible...especially for the 3rd game. (decider)

I need to ask Keight if she's Blue or Maroon. It goes to whether I buy her a drink or not when I see her.;)

I used to go to all the Swans (AFL) games when I lived in Sydney. My dream is to see a game at the MCG....the atmosphere would be awesome.

That is exactly what I thought as I sat at the stadium and watched Port V. Brisbane... I commented to our friends about how American Football players don't have the stamina for this sport. Aussie Rules football is constant motion. They don't get to catch their breath in huddles between plays.

We were in Sydney for one of the Rugby league State of Origin games. That was a hoot! In protest to a call by a ref the fans thought was wrong, a chant errupted in the stadium with one group saying "Bull" and another group saying "shit" Thousands yelling "Bull" "shit"....was a cultural experience. Hehe. I recall being in the crowds heading back to catch the train, shoulder to shoulder crowd and an Aussie saying something along the lines of "Ya know, Mate,*cough, cough*I haven't quite felt right since I got back from Mexico" (We were there in '09 when the Swine flu was all over the news.) Great country, Australia. Met some really nice folks.
