If Britain and the US hadn't fought on that front, the Germans would have been free to concentrate most of their effort to fighting Russia. Besides, if it had been left to Russia to finish it all off, God only knows how the aftermath would have gone with only them to sort it out!

The Battle of Britain wasn't a front. A front typically involves ground troops and an area of contested land. There was no threat of a ground attack from England for how many years? 4? I said the US opened the front because Britain obviously wasn't gonna do it alone.

The Germans would have easily taken over the entire UK if more than half of their air force wasn't committed to the eastern front.
